It’s what makes this time of the year interesting!

So the season is over.  We finished sixth.  Respectable considering the mess Mr Hodgson left us in.  Yes, we have missed out on European football, some say that will be a blessing, only time will tell.

I personally like European football.  OK, granted the Champions League is the top table of this type of football, but I wouldn’t have been unhappy with the Europa League.  Granted,  Channel 5 isn’t award winning in its coverage, Pat Nevin is annoying & Stan is better on TalkSport, but all said I still crave far flung trips to eastern Europe!.

The next couple of months are going to be tabloid heaven – Liverpool will undoubtedly be linked with hundreds of new players, several will be reported as leaving & no doubt we will be singing the next Messi, Zidane or Bale! (Bale?? Is he that good??)

Before we lost to Spurs, the worst kept secret in football was revealed – Kenny would be manager for the next three years.  Obviously all outstanding issues have been sorted – the role of Damien Comolli has been clarified to the boss.  As with previous summers, this one will be termed the most important, the next phase in rebuilding, the plan to restore LFC to where it belongs.

All Red’s fans can see that certain players within our club are NOT Liverpool players.  Poulsen, Ngog and perhaps Joe Cole will be high on that list.  Like most I am totally baffled as to why Cole has failed to deliver what we all thought would flow following his ‘free’ signing.  Injury niggles coupled with relocation problems seem to put pay to any chance of an extended Liverpool career for Joe.  When he returns to the capital, we will hopefully get a few quid!

We have Reina in Goal and now Doni for cover. Galuchi is going out on loan.
TO ONCE AGAIN BE FORTRESS ANFIELD NEEDS A GOOD BACK FOUR……..
    At RIGHT BACK:
we have Johnson and Kelly (who can also play at Right Centre Back). Flanagan needs to be loaned out for experience and age.
    At RIGHT CENTRE BACK:
we have Carragher. Should get Cahill and Dann. Sell Skrtel and Kiagiakos.
    At LEFT CENTRE BACK:
we have Agger. Should get Sakho (who can also play at Left Back. Wilson should go out on loan for age and experience.
    At LEFT BACK:
We have noboby, so we must get Aly Sissokho AND Clichy if we can. Sell Insua and release Aurelio
    again.Loan out young Robinson.
    That gives us defensive options:
    Johnson – Carragher – Agger – Sissokho
    Kelly – Cahill – Sakho – Clichy
    Dann
    That is buy 5, sell/release 4, loan out 3
We must also look at DEFENSIVE MIDFIELD to provide cover before the Back Four – we only have Lucas for this role and no one to provide him with cover/competition. If HONDA is available I suggest we get him!Or M’Vila or Matuidi.
We have enough Attacking Midfielders, and Shelvey should also go out on loan (such players are for the future generation)
That leaves us needing to get at least 3 wingers to complete the midfield. For me, we should certainly try for Mata and Jeffren. It looks as though we can also get Marveaux on a Bosman.
That just leaves the STRIKERS. We have Carroll. Suarez and Kuyt. If we get another we complete our squad, and formidable it would be!! If not, we have Gerrard to act as both a Midfielder or a second striker, and Pacheco………

Please be balanced! It’s true some players take long to adjust but how long did Luis Suarez require? As long as we sign the right kind of players that can become productive immediately, I say Commoli and Dalglish should go out and get them, especially if we are going to be held to ransom by the so called ‘English’ talent.

On the left wing, my preference is Mata if the price is right. That is, if the price we pay for Mata costs us less than the price for Dzsudszak plus Piatti of Almeria or Jeffren of Barcelona. If we cannot get Mata or Dzsudszak, then it is fair to consider Downing plus Piatti or Downing plus Jeffren.

Similarly, my preference for LB is A. Cissokho, EPL experience or not, because this is a player who can compete at the highest levels (CL or France).

Like your thinking…However, I’m not sold on Downing and would he prefer not wear the LFC colours. Dzsudszak is a player that we should buy and not have to worry about the huge fee placed on Mata! I said Jeffren about the same time last year with Bojan and for 15m you can get them both! or get Afellay instead of Jeffren if need be. I truly think we should sign Park Chu Young as he’ll be a valuable player off the bench. Clichy is athletic but has so many weaknesses and should avoid it. Bargain with Everton for Baines for 10m and Eccelston and Amoo! Cissokho is fantastic, but Kenny wants more english players in his set up and thats why we’ll see Dann here and Soto and hopefully Dani “I’m injury prone for the rest of my life” Agger out with Wilson on loan. ‘Pool needs to loan out Wisdom, Coady, Ince, Silva, Robinson and Ngoo to Championship sides to gain the experience. Getting Pacheco into Wigan under the mastermind Martinez is a must! That loan will guarantee help him!

Balázs Dzsudzsák just signed elsewhere! yet he has dominated the Dutch league for the past 3 years! Yet we go for overpriced talent like Young, Mata, Downing, Elia, who all have less talent than Balazs! Very very dissapointed Commoli and the King didn’t even consider this player!

If we buy another hardworking english grafter or midfielder…..please kill me
