Liverpool are still optimistic about signing Rennes winger Sylvain Marveaux on a free transfer, according to the Daily Telegraph. Rory Smith reports that Marveaux is still recovering from injury, and has hinted he may move to another Premier League club, but Reds officials are still hopeful that the 25 year old, who has played for Rennes for his entire professional career, will still arrive at Anfield.

This week it is LFC WAG Clio Zenden!

As long as we don’t do something really stupid like handing him Jovanovich/Cole/Maxi type wages just becuase he’s on a ‘free’, then it’s not a big deal.

As a third choice winger it’s not that much of a risk – if he’s a surprise hit for a couple of season, great; if he flops and moves on for a small fee after just a season or two, who care. Surely he’d still have more to offer than the likes of Maxi eitherway.
