Rumour Mill: City ready to rival Reds for Spaniard?

Manchester City are preparing to turn their attentions to Spanish midfielder Juan Mata, according to the Daily Mirror. They have been put off by the £44million valuation for Udinese winger Alexis Sanchez and will now attempt to bid for the 23 year old Valencia star instead. Juan Mata’s father was quoted saying yesterday that they will listen to offers after the European U21 Championships:

“Until after the Euro, we won’t listen to anybody. After that, we’re willing to listen to all offers we receive. Interest Barcelona? From next Monday on, we’ll analyze what is the best option for the future.”

Mata is believed to valued at £20million by his club Valencia, according to the Mirror.
