The Daily Mirror is reporting that Liverpool have been placed as the new favourites to sign Wigan winger Charles N’Zogbia. According to David Anderson, Newcastle have withdrawn from the race to sign the French international after baulking at the player’s £60,000 per week wage demands. After also signing Rennes winger Sylvain Marveaux, manager Alan Pardew will now use the £12million needed for N’Zogbia to buy a striker instead. The departure of the Magpies from the race, leaves the way clear for Liverpool and Sunderland to fight it out for the player, according to the Mirror.

This week it is former LFC WAG Pamela Camassa!

LFC needs quality wingers rather than average m.fielders

  • Nik Gresham says:

snap him up Kenny, times a wasting.

  • m kop says:

I don’t mind him, but Liverpool still needs one major signing and I belive we will see one soon.

What is a major signing – Hazard or Arguero ?? There is no chance is there but we need two superfast wingers – S Gerard can play centre back this season alongside Martin Kelly – now there is a thought ???????????

  • zahid says:

Mata n Charlie Adam will be our biggest signing, even though i dnt think Adam is a big deal signing he is for KK and what KK thinks is good is good enough for me. Nzogbia should work well but i don’t think we will be paying 12 mill more like 9-10 mill, looks like we’ve been outpriced for Downing which is good coz he iant worth 15 mill.

I understand all the critics amongst us LFC fans saying we are buying average players or players with potential for alot more money then they are worth and i agree, however i rather this then go back to the Hicks n Gillett days where we never had enough to spend or we had to sell before we could spend only some of what we brought in. What a difference a year makes……YNWA

we cant attract top players cos we arent in europe, so we have to get the best we can! Id rather n’zogbia than downing- although what about vargas, elia and adam johnson? I dont think they are out of our reach this transfer window. Would like to see marc albrighton on our right wing- had a decent season. Kyle walker looks like a good prospect, but i guess we need the prem experience to get us up the table. Having said that, a quality player should adapt quick, i.e suarez

Downing, Mata, Dann, Enrique….in my opinion thats all we need…I used to think Downing was an average player but he does put in some really good crosses, and if you think about how many headers Carroll wins, it could be a winning combination. My opinion on Adam is he is good but I think what we have lacked in recent years is a bit of pace and with two good wingers our chances will be created from there or through a Gerrard – Suarez combination of some sort and Lucas as a defensive midfielder for a bit of cover should see us get back into the top four next season. We dont need to go crazy spending we just need to make sure we sign the players that fit the style of play we want.

N’Zogbia doesn’t cross the ball, he prefers to cut inside I personally dont see any truth in this…

Who in their right minds would believe the Daily Mirrior!!

he is good,i will also like to to see mata.

we were interested in Vargas even b4 the season ended. I think he’s a lot beta than most of the other left wingers we’ve bn linked with. I know many people will point at Mata who’s small n might not adapt quickly. Vargas is quite tall, strong, FIT, fast, a dead ball specialist (not to mention his Riise-like shots) and plays in Seria A which is kinda similar to d Premiership. the way I see it, its a no-brainer if we can get him at a decent price (not above 15m) cos he is less risk and might be beta value for money.
If we get Nzogbia, its not so bad also, he might be inconsistent, but he beats his man consistently and is one of the best dribble-and-run players in England. i dont think his attitude will be a problem. Kk is already dealing with egos bigger than his own.

Hello my friend it’s been a longtime since we spoke hope you are well.

Anyway regarding your comments i have to agree for once lol, Vargas is a very good option to that of Mata. Im also glad you mentioned Serie A being similar to that of the Premiership although alot of people would disagree and say its boring and slow. Some would say we’ve had players from Italy like Dossena n Aquilani who failed to adjust to the league, but i dnt think Vargas is like them hes made of true grit. Either way id like atleast 2 players for every position like Mourinho had at Chavski when he first came, Mata/Vargas then maybe the likes of Nzogbia/Perotti as back up??????????

  • N’Zogbia will be a great addition to the squad at anfield. He has proven again and again that he is capable to perform in the premier league. At 12m, I think its worth taking the chance. He is only 25 with about 7 years premier league experience and currently seem to be close to his prime. I would be more than happy to Charles at anfield next season but my first choice will always be Downing.

I guess we’ll just av 2 wait n see hw the next 10 days play out. I’ll like see 1 or 2 transfers b4 the European window opens. i heard KD amd DC are steppin up efforts to buy n sell this week.

  • Marvel says:

@Zahid: am alright n tanx 4 askin. hp u doin gud also.

  • emiru says:

please we need mata now just help us we are in problems without him

  • m kop says:

Why does everyone seem to think Liverpool is unable to attract big signings because they are out of Europe?

Liverpool were not in CL nor looked getting there when Suarez signed and that’s a big signing, even bigger than Carroll never mind him being more expensive.

I believe Liverpool has more chance of attracting Mata or Hazard, maybe even Aguero now that the money is available, as opposed to the time Liverpool played CL but had nothing to spend but empty promises.

Premier League is attractive and Liverpool is on the up so I do expect Comoli and Kenny to find us a big signing, at least one this summer.

  • Gerrardious says:

Sowi, forgot I used a diffrent username. still me.

    nice 1
