What does this man give Liverpool FC?

|

Although it may seem like it, Charlie Adam isn’t really all gold. Like most Premier League players, he has his cons. Blackpool’s whole team was virtually built around him and thus he was surrounded by an array of opportunity, a lot of which was not converted. Adam’s passing range isn’t quite up to scratch. He made the 8th greatest total pass attempts in the league but only finished 21st for total passes completed. His pass success rate was just under 70%. Blackpool’s player of the season, David Vaughan, Adam’s partner in crime, made more successful passes and a greater number of tackles than Adam. Our latest addition, Jordan Henderson, also completed nearly as many as Adams 1311 successful passes but his success rate was 8% higher than Adam’s. All of Adam’s goals were scored with his left foot. Now I’m not saying that he doesn’t have a right boot, just that he doesn’t like to use it.

The talked about price tag on Adam is around £10 million and at that price I think he is a very good buy, anything over £15 million though is definitely too much. It should not be that difficult for Kenny to snap up Adam at a reasonable rate, as he looks to leave his relegated side. Many fans would agree that we could definitely use Charlie Adam and that he would be a good addition to the squad. It’s clear that although he might not be the ‘complete’ player, there are a lot of good aspects he has to offer. Sign him on Kenny.

after alonso,s departure we ave been scratching our head for someone to switch a diognal 50 yard pass when the opposition closes us..what lucas does is he keeps the ball simple by knocking it to one of our diffenders or to the neareest midfielder in vision..what adam can offers with bit of space he can wip in a beauty of a long range pass which entirely can change the tempo of the game or can lead to a swift counter attack…also he is technically good than mereles and lucas..hes also physical and can be used to win 50-50 midfield battles..afterall he can see a pass and an expert setpiece taker..SIGN HIM

I think kd and comoil r too slow in tying up sm deals which looks certain, we r losing out on potential recruits who want to play for us. C adams and scott dann could hv bn signed 2wks ago b4 other clubs join. Move fast guyz the lads r good. Reds 4 lyf.

I seriously don’t think he’ll fit in here. He disappeared for 18 months at Rangers, no disrespect to the SPL but that worries me. He can only play effectively in a 3 man midfield for me so are we really going back to the days of playing one striker? We saw how that worked out before we became over reliant on a player who couldn’t be bothered when things went sour. So where could Adam play? Is he better than Stevie? No, better than Raul? No, Lucas? No, Spearing? Yes at the moment, Shelvey? At the moment Jordan Henderson? Not for me so at best he’s 5th choice central midfielder. While he might get a few more goals from free kicks I don’t see him improving us and if the mancs want him they’re welcome to him as far as I’m concerned.

  • not sure of lfc signing charlie adam because the managers are not seriouse of signing quality players, charlie adam should better sign for man.utd if they comes for his service.

Charlie Adam for me is the biggest signing of the summer, Liverpool have had some fantastic players over the years and some average ones, but tell me when was the last time we had a player who could take corners and set pieces like Adam , gerrard is one of, if not the best midfielder in the world, but haw many times does he hit the first man, asdid alonso, now we have the likes of Carroll and get gerrard in the box and let’s score some 92nd min free kicks or corners, it could be the difference between breaking defensive teams down and winning 1-0 on a cold Monday night, Instead of drawing once again, and missing out by 2 silly draws.
