Fiorentina Sporting Director Pantaleo Corvino has refused to say whether the club is interested in Liverpool midfielder Alberto Aquilani. Manager Sinisa Mihajlovic has suggested recently that the club needs somebody like Aquilani to replace Riccardo Montolivo. Corvino said:

“I don’t name names until the negotiations are concluded.”

Meanwhile, Liverpool First Team Coach Steve Clarke praised the performance of Aquilani against the Malaysian XI on Saturday:

“The partnership of Adam and Aquilani was good. They are showing real promise. We have always known how good a player he is. He has the quality to stay on and fight for his place in the first team. The tour has helped the players settle in and bond with each other. The matches here have been challenging, but they should brace themselves for even tougher training when we get back home.”

This week it is former LFC WAG Claudine Keane!

he should be kept after his performances and for the fact he has a good range of passing then most of the sqad we have!!he deserves second chance!!!

Adam keeps getting the headlines – I don’t know why as he’s done nothing of note so far, yet Aquilani who was outstanding against the Malay side hardly gets a mention.
He is a quality player, much superior to the rather slow Adam.

BootleBob.. I wouldn’t go as far as to say the Adam has done nothing of note so far… he scored the penalty (twice) and was always in the game in both friendlies… always available to receive the ball and showed great vision and accuracy to spread the ball around the field… something we have been missing since Alonso left. As for Aquilani, I am 100% with you there, he has been outstanding in the first two games of pre-season and is showing why Benitez paid so much to bring him to Anfield.

Alberto is good but he need to be in gym to work more to is strength,if we sell him i will like us to go for lucas biglia.

I do think that we will sell either Aqua or Meireles, simply because we have a huge abundence of talent in CM. Both players are also very similar and have one big weakness…..Neither like to do any kind of defensive work.

  • Sean says:

yes sell him coz he wants to stay in italy and he’s bad flop

  • MB says:

Can’t blame him for wanting to stay in Italy. Look at how he was treated in his first season at LFC …
When he was fit they still wouldn’t play him and then last summer after some good displays, he was sent on loan. In my opinion a big mistake.
Players from Italy always have a hard time adapting to the English game and lifestyle. In Liverpool he felt unwanted and in Italy they were happy with him. Needless to say I understand him but I hope he stays. He is a World class player and if Kenny shows his confidence in him we are all gonna benefit from it!
