Not Ideal, But We Should Be Able To Cope Without Him

|

Despite not having much of a break this summer, Suarez can rest easy knowing that next summer he will have longer to recuperate than his team mates as the majority of Liverpool’s players will be flying off to Poland and the Ukraine for the European Championships. The Reds cannot really control how international tournaments are organised, and although it can be assumed the Reds medical staff would prefer the likes of Suarez to have more rest this summer, as Steve Clarke says you have to do your best for your country.

If we can anticipate that Uruguay reach the final on July 24th, it will then follow that Suarez would be given at least three weeks off to recuperate, meaning he would return to training around the time of Liverpool’s opening match with Sunderland. He would then at least need two weeks to recover full fitness in pre season training mode before being thrust back into the side, meaning the end of August would be the earliest time for his return.

With Liverpool spending big this summer, Suarez’s absence from the first few games should be dealt with relatively well, but any side would miss the qualities of the Uruguayan and hopefully he hits the ground running when he returns to first team action for the Reds.

Thyat is the reason we need another striker. What if either Suarez or Carroll are injured…are we to rely for another season on NGOG!!!!!!!!!

Dirk Kuyt Should be able to cope against Sunderland – we arn’t exactly hort of midfielders to take Dirk’s place on the right. However, I would play Suarez against Arsenal and then rest him for Bolton and Stoke, if he needed it, bringing back for the Spurs game.

Hmm.. I don’t agree with this. He doesn’t need 2 weeks to recover to match fitness because he, unlike the others, has been training hard all summer… I am sure he will be ready for the game against Arsenal and knowing him, maybe the one against Sunderland. He had 7 match ban before the new year and played his first game with us without hardly any training. He will be fine 🙂
