“I think I’ll probably have to go out on loan”

Liverpool defender Danny Wilson feels he will have to go out on loan this season:

“I think I’ll probably have to go out on loan, although I’m not sure where. There are a lot of players at my club so it would probably be best for my career to go somewhere else just now. Kenny Dalglish [Liverpool’s manager] has been really supportive of me. He knows that I want to go and play somewhere and he needs me to go and play too – it’s no use to him having a young boy on the sidelines. I need to get more experience and he supports that. I didn’t play a lot of first-team games last season and I don’t want a repeat of that. I don’t know where that [loan] will be. There have been no offers for me yet. Once they come in I’ll evaluate them.”

Wilson also said that he would play anywhere for the Reds if called upon:

“I’m a centre-back but if the manager decides that he wants me at left-back I can’t have any problems with that and I’ll do it no problem at all. If he wants to put me in goal, I’ll go in goal. I’m one of those kind of players who always gives my all for the team wherever I’m chosen to play.”
