Liverpool Director of Football Damien Comolli has stated that Jose Enrique will likely be Liverpool’s last summer signing but he hasn’t totally ruled out more acquisitions, he told Liverpoolfc.tv:

“You can never say never, but it is likely.”

Comolli also confirmed that they have had offers for some of their fringe players. Asked about pending departures, he said:

“Yes, it is possible. As I’ve said before, some players would like to have more minutes and game time. We’ve had a few approaches for players, so it’s something we will look at.”

This week it is former Women’s Tennis World Number One and LFC Fan Caroline Wozniacki!!

  • Shame if true, cause we need another CB and a right winger also a striker if Ngog leaves.
Looking good though and happier now we have LB options.

Have you heard? David Moyes is very upset, he sent out some looters with a shopping list of players he wants but they came back empty handed and with bulging pockets, the wanted players paid them to go away. And to make matters worse his existing players have been asking to be looted.

Genius – no back up striker, no right winger, no pace. A fortune spent on average players, had better hope Suarez does not get injured cos he is the only player (plus a half fit Gerrard) that can add that spark of something different! So much for buying the best young talent from around Europe!

    • DMK says:

Stevie G. Kuyt and Joe Cole all well able to play as second striker if required. Glen Johnson can play right wing with Kelly or Flanno RFB. Pace coming from Kelly, Enrique, Downing, Johnson and Suarez I am afraid Sam you are no Genius

      • Sam says:

Cole, 30 goals in ten years, 3 a season, yeah good shout! Kuyt maybe but he only seems to perform against the top teams, we need to start picking up points against the lesser teams!
I totally agree with you about Johnson at right wing, always thought that was a good shout, but he may be against it as he will risk his England place at right back.
No problem with Enrique going forward but his priority is to defend, don’t get me wrong i think Suarez and Carroll superb just worried about injuries given Carroll’s history and Suarez long travelling to internationals, i really thought decent back up would be a priority.

I agree DMK Sam clearly is clueless can stand these so called “supporters” who would rather moan about what they havent got instead of praising the work Kenny and co have done improving squad depth and balance this summer. Just look at the number of left footed players we now have availble…adam. downing, enrique, carroll, robinson so on great balance added. Also the ability to bring players of the bench who can actually change a game cannot be underestimated like cole, rodriguez, aquilani (If he stays) Hendo, Kuyt so many options!!

All in all Sam your clueless!

how negative is that? we have alot for players that can change a game, kuyt, downing, carrol, suarez, gerrard, adam, aquilani, maxi sometimes even johnson, and if steve clark is to be beleived maybe joe cole. The team does lack a little pace but it is still quick enough to play a good counter attacking game with suarez, gerrard and downing no slouches getting forward. yes we could do with another CB so the greek doesn’t have to play. kuyt and maxi can both play on the right as can joe cole, gerrard or meireless at a stetch. we have 3 top strikers and a number of players who can play just behind so i dont think that will be a problem over the season especially with no europe to concern us. sorry if the posts a bit long lol

we have plenty of options – Martin Kelly is a CB too by the way, but he can also play RB if needed, and we have Flanno of course. In centre of defence we’ll have Carra, Skrtl, Agger, Soto and Kelly – not too shabby really. Enrique, Robinson, Insua for LB. Kuyt will take the right midfield slot, if not then Johnson can push up a bit. Kuyt is also a striker and did well with Suarez end of last season. I think Maxi can play wide right as well (not sure about this tbh). Poitnis, we have decent cover all over the pitch as it is, if you include the youngsters as well – not to mention Henderson who can also play on the right and deliver decent crosses. Ideally one more striker would be good althouh the King may give Pacheco a run, if not keep Ngog as back up – job done.

I for one am looking forward to the season ahead and think we’ll do well; I reckon top 4 is well achievable.

      C’mon you Redmen

  • Alan says:

Are you deluded? We have one of the strongest midfields in the premiership now. Your obviously not a true Liverpool fan posting total garbage like that. who did you want to sign?

  • Ben says:

@ Sam – some people are never happy, maybe you’d prefer a return to the H & G era?????
