Chelsea have joined Liverpool in pursuing Porto full back Alvaro Pereira, according to O Jogo. Manager Andre Villas-Boas knows him well after coaching the player at the Portuguese club and is looking at the player as a direct replacement for the departing Yury Zhirkov, who is expected to return to Russia to join Anzhi. Pereira helped Uruguay win the Copa America this summer, and has also been linked with Liverpool as a possible solution to their left back problems.
