Who will be the MOST and LEAST Successful Summer Signing?

|

Least Successful – Charlie Adam

One of the biggest reasons why I think Adam may struggle at Liverpool, at least initially, is the fact he will not be the main man as he was at Blackpool. Players will not automatically give him the ball to pepper passes around the pitch and he will have to earn the trust of his team mates as well as taking time to adapt so he is on the same wavelength as them.

He will be playing with higher quality players, which should help him but it could also be a problem as he either tries too hard to prove his worth in the team or fails to adapt the style of play at the club. The Scot is not the quickest of players and likes to have time on the ball in deep positions to pick out a pass, and he may not always be afforded time and space, especially in his second season in the Premier League where the opposition will know a lot more about him.

I have to be honest that I wasn’t ever sure that we needed to buy Adam in the first place due to the amount of central midfield options we have, especially with Henderson arriving before him. I hope I am wrong on this prediction though, and one area where he will surely excel is at set pieces where his dangerous free kicks and corners could provide the Reds with a few more goals. Let’s wait and see what the season brings for Charlie.

I have the utmost belief that all signings (including adam) will work wonders, it is the first time liverpool actually have strength and depth in their squad (although 1 more striker/defender) would help. Adam and Gerrard on opposing set pieces will be too dangerous, especially with Carroll. Adam is technically gifted, although slow, however Alonso wasn’t exactly pacey!! Furthermore if on the off-chance Gerrard gets injured, Adam can use his british-grit-spirit to step into that role (although maybe not as captain), but he will definately spur on the others with his passion and determination.

Henderson is a long term signing. He will get better as the years roll on. Downing will make an immediate impact, but, Charlie Adams, I am not sure about.

Doni is surely the guy who will make the least impact due to pure lack of chances, I agree Adam might get into the trap of tying too hard! I do feel all will add more to the squad, I also think Henderson will take a full season to settle

What kinda of article is this before the season even starts?

If you are a Red you should hang your head in shame. Give the new signings a chance, they’ve not even played a single competitive match.

damn right Eighty this is a shocking article, Fing waste of space.

Im getting sick of our own supporters behaving like they are lately, constant whingeing and complaining we sound like a bunch of wengers
