Craig Bellamy has been in a footballing no-man’s land for too long now. Yes he impressed on loan at Cardiff City last season, but his status at his parent club Manchester City has seen him viewed by many as an ‘outsider’ or a ‘forgotten man’. I’m not sure whether I feel sorry for Craig, who’s earning a reported £95,000 a week, but it is clear that something needs to change and that he has no future at City.

The BBC and The Mirror have reported that a move back to his former clubLiverpool could be on the cards, suggesting that City are keen to get him off of the wage-bill.

If there’s any truth to this I’d be much amused, after all Craig stated not too long ago that if he couldn’t make it at City the only other club he’d consider would be Cardiff City. But would a move to Liverpool be the right option for him?

My worry is that Bellamy would find himself in a position all too similar to the one he currently finds himself in at City. He currently has Edin Dzeko, Mario Balotelli, Carlos Tevez and Sergio Aguero to contend with at City.
