As the season progresses we can expect a number of Premier League players to make a name for themselves this year, while even more will continue to get the deserved recognition for their work on the field. However a number of top talents often go unnoticed throughout a Premier League campaign despite performing consistently for their clubs.
When we think of PFA nominees, or ‘players of the year’, we tend to look to those players who have scored either several or sensational goals, or those have made some obvious impact at their club over the course of the season. While the input of such players is certainly commendable and often worthy of the awards they receive, there remain a number of players, those ‘unsung heroes’, who get little, if at all any, recognition for the role they have played throughout the season.
