Yet Another Central Midfielder Lost To Injury

The Guardian are tonight reporting that Kenny Dalglish and Liverpool have been dealt another blow as the club’s midfield injury jinx struck again, with news that Charlie Adam has apparently been ruled out for the rest of the season.

The Scot limped off during the ill-fated QPR defeat during half-time and the latest scans have revealed the extent of the injury – lateral knee ligament damage – all but confirming the end of his campaign.

As discussed here Adam has enjoyed mixed emotions during his Liverpool career with a fairly bright start disappointingly tailing off as his form dipped post-Christmas. 35 appearances for the Reds have only brought 2 goals for the former Blackpool playmaker who found his place under threat once club captain Steven Gerrard recovered from his lengthy injury.

With Lucas Leiva already missing the majority of this campaign through his own knee ligament injury Liverpool’s central midfield area has been severely hampared, leaving the Reds only able to choose from youngsters Jay Spearing, Jordan Henderson or Jonjo Shelvey, to partner captain Gerrard – if he remains fit – until season’s end.

Jimmy Areabi (Editor) - @fantasista1077: Huyton raised like Steven Gerrard, football has been my passion since the time I received a Kenny Dalglish badge as a toddler, and I've followed the Reds ever since – something that was easier during the 80s, when I worshipped John Barnes! I've produced work for many football media outlets & am now happy to run a major site on the club I love - providing our fans with a voice, and to bring as much information and news on the club as possible.

Serves kenny right. During the january window we all thought kk would strengthen his in case anyform of injury struck again. He felt he can easily get comparing himself with the likes of city who can boost of several players in all position, united that couldnt afford to forget the experience of scholes and chelsea who had midfielders outnumbering liverpool players. This set of players played almost every game for Lfc, Both the league and cups which will always tell on them. I guess the academy players will be available when we finally loose 3or 4 more players to injury before the end of the season.

He’s been bloody useless for a good few weeks now. He won’t be missed.
