ARE we waking up to the news that every single Liverpool fan has been waiting for, the reason why FSG have remained silent until now about the Kings replacement and the headlines that could rock the Premier League to its core?

Well if Señor Guardiola is to be taken to his word then maybe, just maybe, Anfield could be about to welcome Pep to Liverpool Football club as their new Manager.

The news will thrill every Kopite and leave us coiled in anticipation of the next week’s events.

In an interview taken before the upcoming Spanish cup final against Europa League finalists and Manchester United conquerors Athletic Bilbao the mercurial Spaniard admits he could be ‘seduced’ into scrapping his 12 month sabbatical by accepting a role elsewhere.

When pressed on his future Guardiola said:

“I will receive all calls with pleasure, but for the next month I have to recharge my batteries and my mind. I will rest and wait. I will be ready, if one club wants me, if they seduce me, I will train again”.

His comments will no doubt have messrs Henry and Abramovich in a no holds barred battle to secure the much acclaimed Barcelona idol. With Roberto Di Matteo delivering the FA cup and UEFA Champions League for Chelsea already this month perhaps Pep would see Liverpool as a more interesting proposition and would relish the challenge of restoring one of the world’s greatest football clubs to its rightful place at the pinnacle of domestic and European football.

I think I speak for every Liverpool fan worldwide when I say I certainly hope so. YNWA!

    Would be nice… very nice…
van gaal as Director of sport.

If the yanks are serious… then this is the time to rip out and rebuild on a fresh blueprint that needs to be given time to get the cogs going.

My opinion only.. pep would be good I think.. I think his tactical awareness over KK will be beneficial and the like of Carrol and Suarez will definiately benefit… Henderson will be looking at an all time great and take advice on his game (advice from a modern era)

I think it would work to be honest… im just glad he isnt simply waiting for fergie to retire… like mourhino is!. lol

  • Sanjred says:

just to add… even if it isnt PEP in the hot seat when all is said and done…
I do think we need to give the new manager all the support and not start being idiots and chanting for RAFA when one nil down!!!

    Just my view.

the fact that he did great with barca DO NOT guarantee success in EPL. and almost any descent coach would do a fine job with a team like barca given the world class players they have..i mean, lets just deduct messi from barca team and and lets see where they would stand in the table.!! all i am trying to say is that, installing pep WILL NOT GUARANTEE success for liverpool.

What you don’t understand is that when GUardiola comes to Liverpool, so does Messi! And then we can test the Barry Glendening theory of Messi in Stoke on a wet tuesday night!

It is incredibly unlikely Pep would take the job for several reasons. The most pressing one is that it would be seen as a snub to Barcelona if he left them and took another job at once. That’s why I don’t think he’ll work again until a year has passed. However, it would be brilliant if he came.

It would be a great if it were to happen but Martinez is a foregone conclusion to be the next manager at LFC. There are a lot of underachievers at Liverpool and there are some who shouldn’t even be at the club. Guardiola would only have to glance at the squad list and then shake his head in disbelief at the talent he would have at his disposal.

  • Richard says:

I don’t mean to ruin your party, but i can easily tell you why this will never happen… FSG has organized a structure in LFC where the responsibility of running a club has been divided amongst lots of different people. That includes transfers… Pep will never accept working-conditions where he isn’t in full control of running the club

  • RedRoy says:

    Not going to happen.

  • hadi lfc fan says:

    welcome 2 liverpool pep

I don’t know if Benitez would come back, he certainly won’t if the Americans will want to curtail his management. He’s a total operator, he won’t stand for part management. Also if he’ll come it will be a step back, remember he did hs best over the years at Liverpool, why do you think now it will be better? I think Didier Dechampes is the right man. Young and fresh and aggressive and has won everything as a player and manager.

Will b gOod but realisticly impossible.our best bet for now is Rafa
