LIVERPOOL FC are set to beat off competition from a number of club’s including West Ham, by signing Juventus winger Milos Krasic for £6 million according to reports in today’s Mirror and Daily Mail.

The Reds have long admired the Serbian forward/winger, with rumours persisting that the Anfield club have been monitoring the player as far back as the Rafa Benitez reign.

Krasic came to prominence in the Russian Premier League with CSKA Moscow and his performances for the Serbian national team – especially on the way to qualifying for the 2010 World Cup – which earned him a move to Serie A giants Juventus for a reported €15 million.

After a promising start to life in Italy with some early impressive performances in which he both scored and created goals, many dubbed the skilful winger the ‘new Nedved’. However as Juve started to struggle, so did his form, and once new manager Antonio Conte took over, Krasic fell out of favour – making just 7 appearances last season.

It was rumoured he came close to making a switch to White Hart Lane in the January transfer window, but the deal fell through and now, still unwanted by Juventus, his availability has alerted several clubs with Liverpool now said to be discussing terms.

West Ham manager Sam Allardyce tried to steal a march on the Reds by visiting Italy and holding talks with Juventus officials earlier this week, and was said to be interested in taking Krasic on-loan. However he was told the new Serie A champions want to sell the 27-year old, paving the way for Liverpool.

Another Juve player on the Reds radar in the past, Dutch winger Eljero Elia, is also said to be available.

Sorry to burst your bubble BUT how van Krasic be the new Nedved when he was a Czech. (Krasic is Serbian.)

  • steve mcauley says:

good to know that if we struggle, HE will step up to the plate!!! God, if we could only beat off the mighty west ham maybe we can get 8 or 9 games out of him, a snip at £6m!

  • chunky says:

I think I’ll wait for the “new Billy Liddel” if you don’t mind. All these “new this or that” get me down. We shall soon be getting “new fans” I dare say!

  • mahlon says:

how long are we going to hear about interests in players yet they are not comming to the club. go ahead and sign him within the shortest time!

  • bazza says:

    Guys,

Please remember this statement when reading these stories that have absolutely no foundation.

“LIVERPOOL FOOTBALL CLUB DO THEIR BUSINESS IN PRIVATE AND WHEN THERE IS ANY NEWS ON A NEW SIGNING THE CLUB WILL ANNOUNCE IT. THE CLUB DO NOT STATE THEIR INTEREST IN ANY PLAYER UNTIL A DEAL IS DONE”

    • david says:

News of every signing leaks out before a club announcement you turnip !

    • Moocher says:

Yes LFC do ‘do their business in private’ then buy dross. I do hope we have left this policy behind. Anything I have seen of this guy has not impressed me & I think I’d be happy that another team ‘acquire’ him.

  • qquiksilvr says:

The blonde hair and the striped kit. That’s where the comparison ends. Very different player to Nedved.

  • Lorenzo says:

Not good enough! Krasic, I mean.
Just a reserve player! No hardworking, the opposite of Kuyt

  • Rhys I says:

The fact he’s 27 says he’s not the next nedved

  • chinonso says:

dnt try dat nonsence, he is a flop at juve, so dnt sign him

    • Paul says:

Thierry Henry was a flop at juventus too, just because a player is not suited to Italian football does not make him a bad player. 6m is bargain basement prices these days especially compared to the extortionate amount we payed for downing who is a similar age. I think its worth taking a punt on the lad.

      • Blackwog says:

6 mill is bargain basement only if you get quality, otherwise it is just an overpriced footballer.
Now let me tell he is 27 and he is nowhere near the quality of Nedved.

  • biggz says:

We nid quality playerz n nt flops

  • Awwal says:

y is it dat dis new so call manager wants to kill us by talking of fringe n flope players a player dat we are dragging wid west ham wat r we going to do wid him or foolish players like kalou go and get Us Adam Johnson, ramirez n moses n stop all dis intrest interest

  • Garry says:

Well said I’m a hammer and I don’t want them

  • Effect says:

Get Joe Allen, Ioanis Fetfatzidis, Diame, Dempsey, Daniel Sturridge.

  • zahid says:

    1. He was a good player when he played in Russia, this was when Rafa was interested in him but his club was asking for too much 15-20 mill Euros.

    2. He was build as the new Nedved when he joined Juventus but it never materialised that way.

    3. I hope he has still got something left in him would love the form he showed when he was playing in the Russian league.

    4. the price 6-7 mill is a bargain and hes still 27.

Id love to see 1 big named signing in Adam Johnson this summer come on FSG make it happen.

Also if Moye’s goes to Spurs we should bid for Baines

  • Ray says:

We are not in the business of signing Juve rejects – LOOK TO BLACKBURN FOR BARGAINS

  • Mikey says:

Using the word ‘new’ in front of an established quality player’s name is one of the most boring and tired cliches in football today. It’s horrible.

Not having a go at the author but it just smacks as laziness when other people go oh he’s the ‘new’ ….. and most of the time, it turns out they aren’t.

Bruno Cheryou and Anthony Le Tellac were both supposed to be ‘new’ Zidanes lol

  • I hope this new manager is not just creating interest in players becuz of his personal interest, cuz we need players that will make us get back to the top league, but not to remain to the button of our league…… We need goog guys pls mang..

  • Bekim says:

For 6 million if true I think it’s great. Form is temporary and class is permanent. Better than SD, JH, JS and CHA put together. A Johnson would b great signing too. Let’s hope we get both of them.

    • Gaz says:

Better than Jonjo? Firstly, he is a different type of player in a different position than Jonjo, secondly, Jonjo is 20 years old, so to be where he is, he has done extremely well. Jonjo will be a superstar. I bet you were one of the boo boys when Lucas first came into the side too. Fan is temporary, supporter is permanent.

      • Bekim says:

Just where exactly do I say he’s better than J Shelvey. SD read Stewart Downing. JH read Jordan Henderson. JS read Jay Spearing. CHA read Charlie Adam. If u don’t know players initials than yr some permanent supporter. YNWA.

  • John says:

another traore, aqua man in my view, may come good one day, at 27 he should have hit his peak now so its only down hill and a big pay day for him. We need to look at someone with a bit of balls and wont hit the floor if u breathe on them
    ins:
Adam Johnson (Winger 24), Claudio Marchisio (Box to Box Midfielder 26), Andriy Yarmolenko (Center forward, the 22 yr old can also play on the left) Mario Gotze probably the most expensive on the list and only 20 Midfield)
    Out:
Jamie to take a coaching role as his analysis during the euros prove he has the ability to be a top coach and future manager, the heads still there, the heart still pounding but the legs are failing him (a true red Ledge)
Adams, a great midfielder in a league one team just doesnt make the grade
Maxi, age isnt on his side but a useful signing for a promoted club
For the life of me at 35 million I cant see where Andy Carroll fits into Brendan’s plans other than sold or on the Bench. He is big, clumsy, cant hold the ball, and lacks pace, but he can head a ball

  • SAM CHARLES says:

this guy is crap, he has flopped big time, he had so much promise but we really dont want him, why should we buy a juventus flopp when there are many many better players out there?

is it being cheap that the fsg group are liking about these type of deals?

fsg and mr henry trying to do things on the cheap are they!

why not buy already and stop mucking about with these deadbeats, gaston ramirez should have been here by now, this american ownership thing is crap i think they are here to sell up?
