Brend New Start

WITH Brendan Rodgers appointed new Liverpool boss, it’s difficult to not be optimistic about Liverpool’s future. The man’s proved his worth with the job he did with Swansea – getting them promoted and turning them in to a fairly attractive footballing proposition.

It will take time though, as he’s already said to the fans. The kind of time that Kenny Dalglish wasn’t afforded due to his superior managerial pedigree, as well the degree of transformation Liverpool underwent at the end of the season before last. Rodgers is starting with a clean sheet though.

The reason he’s been brought in, is because he turned Swansea into a side that played incredibly and effective football. Including against Liverpool, especially when they came to Anfield last season and turned a few heads with the way they unlocked the Liverpool defence. The other reason for optimism with Rodgers, is the fact he seems to have a level head. This isn’t to say Kenny Dalglish was an air-head. But given his achievements both as a player and manager, he was visibly more annoyed when asked tough questions and asked to explain certain tactics.

Rodgers kick started his tenure as Anfield gaffer with the most charming image for the media. Turning around a question regarding bidding for Swansea players, by thanking them all for their contributions. This is the kind of man who can keep Liverpool out of the headlines for the wrong reasons. That in turn may cause less of a disturbance within the Melwood camp when any particular issue does erupt. Another good thing Rodgers has done already is quite a Rafa Benitez-esque move by declaring Kenny Dalglish is welcome at Anfield any time.

Not that Dalglish needs an invitation to walk into the club. The managerial fiasco was just a blemish on his otherwise superb relationship with the club. But this may also allow Kenny to re-establish his status as an ambassador or a club representative in some capacity.

The last stint with the club will have undoubtedly left a bitter taste in the mouth for both club and the great King Kenny. His managerial decisions were questioned last season, not his legend.

Maybe on this occasion, he’ll be able to carry on with that while Rodgers ushers in a new era at Anfield. One where playing teams like Blackburn and Sunderland doesn’t cause the Anfield faithful any headaches.

Am I correct when I say Downing is the only left sided midfielder and Maxi is the only right sided midfielder we have? Then we have eight central midfielders: Gerrard, Lucas, Henderson, Adam, Spearing, Shelvey, Aquilani, and Cole. Christ, Breandan has some amount of balancing to do there!

Maxi and downing are both left sided, but don’t worry Robben is coming to play on right and Ronaldo on left. Messi will be partnering suarez . Gerrard is also going to be cloned so we will have both of him playing in centre. Also a hitman has been hired to take out henderson and biggest loser usa are offering a place for charlie adam. So all should be good next season ynwa !!

If brendan watches the likes of newcastle take a future and current GOAL MACHINE in luuk de jong, from under his nose. Then we are doomed. His “TIKI TAKI” football is going to take time to be implimented so, I’m not looking forward to next season one bit.

As they say its all about results – nothing else matters. But when you’re not doing well enough on the pitch then all other managerial faults come into focus – that’s was the case with KK. Don’t think he’ll be back anytime soon – he’ll have been really hurt by the way he was treated- IMO he should have been given one more season but can understand why FSG felt things were not going in the right direction. Good luck Brendon
