AS expected (at the time of writing) Liverpool have so far failed to sign any player.

There is however, plenty of gossip linking Liverpool to almost everyone.

Some of them have died down as swiftly as they came while some still continue to persist. Every week a new story crops up linking the Reds to a new player.

Dirk Kuyt has already left the club and there are plenty of rumours about the departures of certain players from Liverpool this summer. While we all wait to see who joins and who leaves the club, here is a look at latest rumours that have crept up this week.

MAXI RODRIGUEZ

As reported yesterday. Maxi has now left the club.

Earlier in the week it was reported on  Goal.com that Maxi was closing in on a return to Newell’s Old Boys, with the Argentine club revealing that a deal is in place to sign the player once his time at Anfield comes to a close.

The Argentina international, 31, was expected to leave England on a free transfer next summer, with reports circulating that he is negotiating to end his time with the Reds one year before his contract expires.

Newell’s secretary Pablo Morosano claims that everything is in place to bring ‘La Fiera’ back to Rosario once he becomes a free agent.

“We are waiting for official news about the end of Maxi’s link [with Liverpool]. There is an ongoing contact and we have a deal agreed with him,” the official revealed to Ole.

“But as long as his exit from Liverpool has not been settled, we cannot announce it.”

Maxi is a product of Newell’s youth system, and played at the club for three years before moving to Espanyol in 2002. He was used sparingly by Liverpool during the 2011-12 season, making just 11 league appearances.

FABIO BORINI

His signing could be concluded as we speak, with him arriving on Merseyside for a medical on Friday.

CLINT DEMPSEY

According to a report in the Mirror Online:

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is ready to bid £7.5 million for Fulham’s American star Clint Dempsey in his first major transfer raid.

Rodgers wants to snap up Dempsey quickly and tie up a deal before the Kop fly to the shooting star’s homeland next week.

Dempsey had a sensational season for Fulham but may have to be sold as his deal is running down and he fancies a ‘glamour’ move at this stage of his career – with the Anfield club prepared to pay.

Rodgers wants a couple of new faces and has the funds to land Dempsey – with Fulham willing to sell and also open to a possible exchange deal involving one of Liverpool’s fringe men.

Sources close to the Dempsey camp claim a deal may be pushed through as soon as Wednesday, with a fast transfer also suiting Fulham who would want to be able to spend the cash.

ANDY CARROLL

According to Metro.co.uk Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has indicated that record signing Andy Carroll could leave Anfield on loan this summer. There are concerns that the target man might not fit into Rodgers’ preferred 4-3-3 system, and he said of the 23-year-old:

“He’s a good kid, a good lad, so we will just see how the formation of the group shapes up over the next four or five weeks.”

He added: “There are many things to going on loan. Is it going to be beneficial for the club, that’s the most important thing?

“Sometimes a player going out on loan – in general, not just Andy – can benefit the club in the long term.

“I’m not going to sit here and say I will never let anyone go on loan, then come in here in two weeks and a player’s gone, and you’re saying ‘you said you wouldn’t let them”.

Italian media mogul Pier Silvio Berlusconi, who is the president of Mediaset, the holding company that owns AC Milan, has acted as a consultant on the Rossoneri’s transfer business in recent years, has indentified Andy Carroll as the possible target for Milan. Berlusconi Jr. believes Milan should get the cheque book out this summer, and start with a deal for Liverpool’s £35 million powerhouse Carroll, who impressed for England at Euro 2012.

“This is a new era for Milan. We will continue to get younger while maintaining the culture. Milan still has its superstars. As a future target I’d like Andy Carroll,” Pier Silvio Berlusconi announced.

“I must admit that for his body build, and after seeing his header in the Euros, I would like to have Carroll at Milan.”

The son of Milan president Silvio Berlusconi, Pier Silvio, is known to be an admirer of the physicality of Carroll, and the club may look to exploit their friendly relations with Liverpool. Milan would look to initially take the striker on loan, with a view to purchasing him at the end of the season.

Elsewhere, BBC Sports has reported that Brendan Rodgers is considering the option of loaning Carroll to the Hammers after the London club shown interest in the 23 year old striker. This move could prove to be beneficial for Carroll, as he is certain to feature in every match for the newly promoted Hammers.

While a report in the Mirror Football suggested that Fulham is looking to use Liverpool’s interest in Clint Dempsey to rival West Ham in the race to land Andy Carroll. Both clubs are up against Italian giants AC Milan who are also bidding for the 23-year-old striker’s services on loan. All three must wait for an answer until the £35million striker returns from holiday in Brazil.

What a load of tripe. Borini has already signed, Dempsey isn’t being signed Too old and too expensive Maximum age is 25 for purchase John Henry’s rule (and I thought I had memory problems). Carroll doesn’t want to move and why should he?

In fairness this author is intent on stating facts only….he did mention Borini is having a med …at least he’s not just spouting rumours left right and centre like 90% of sites …u would have thought Ramierez was a done deal last week according to lots of sites….I would now trust what I read on this site.
It may not be exciting reading , but it’s honest!

The owners need to invest some serious money in the side: £85-£100M

Should and needs to be invested on class quality players who will take us from top 7-10 team over last three abyzmal seasons to a top 1-4 side again.

The owners need to put their money in their pockets and invest heavily to keep our best, world class players at club.

These 8 players should be brought to club:

1: S Kjaer Of Wolfburg should be brought for £8-£10M to cover and compete with Agger, Coates and Skrtel. CB

2: A Cissokho Of Lyon should be brought to club for £3-£8M to compete and cover Enrique. LB

3: B Matuidi Of PSG or J Allen Of Swansea should be brought to club for £8-£12M to compete and cover LUCAS. DM

4: I Munian Of A Bilbao should be brought for £12-£17m to compete and Cover Aquilani and Shelvey for the AM role.

5: A Lennon Of Tottenham Or T Walcott Of Arsenal, One of these players should be brought for £10-£14M RW

6: S Sinclair Of Swansea should be brought for £3-£5M to compete and cover Downing. LW

7: J Hoillet Of Blackburn, M Susaeta Of A Bilbao, M Phillips Of Blackpool Or V Moses Of Wigan, One Of these wingers should be brought for £3-£7M to compete for Right wing position at club. RW

8: G Agbonglahor Of A Villa should be brought for £10-£15M

Our club have been in desperate need of pace, speed, creativity, class, quality for the last four seasons.

These players would change dimension of side/squad:

1:S Kjaer Would offer good healthy competition to the central defence.

2:A Cissokho Of Lyon would offer good quality competition to Enrique as he has pace, speed, good engine, good going forward and solid/steady defensively.

3:J Allen Of Swansea would offer Lucas some good healthy competiton for the DM position.

4:I Munian Of A Bilbao would offer more mobility, pace, speed, creativity through middle of park and compete with Aquilani and Shelvey for the AM Position at club.

5:A Lennon Of Tottenham OR T Walcot Of Arsenal, would bring some electric, speed, pace, width to right wing.

6:S Sinclair Of Swansea would bring more pace, speed, class, creativity and skill to left wing and keep Downing on Bench.

7: M Phillips Of Blackpool would be good cover and competition for the Right wing position as he has size, strength, pace, speed, skill, trickery, youth and potential to be a star in future.

8: G Agbonglahor Of A Villa would bring some more power speed pace mobility to forward frontline, then club could have 5 good strikers at club competing with one another at B Rodgers Disposal: Agbonglahor,Bellamy, Borini, Carroll and Suarez.

And with these 8 players brought club would be top 4 club again for sure, we would have enough class good quality players fighting and competing with one another at club and injuries and suspensions to our best players will be well covered with these 8 players.
