With media reports suggesting that Arsenal are trying to hijack Liverpool’s loan deal for Nuri Sahin, it remains to be seen whether or not the Turkish midfielder ends up at Anfield. A number of people were expecting Liverpool to confirm a loan deal for Sahin on Thursday but instead we got Assaidi, assuming he passes his medical. Arsenal’s continued interest may yet throw a spanner in the works as Sahin is said to want Champions League football, but with Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho and ex-Red Xabi Alonso said to be trying to persuade Sahin to agree a loan to Liverpool, we can be cautiously optimistic that the former Dortmund player becomes part of the Rodgers revolution.
