As if it couldn’t get more exciting…United complete the trio of tough teams first to visit Anfield this season. Certainly a baptism of fire for Rodgers, these games are not to be taken with a Roy Hodgson style pinch of salt. This fixture is one of the most highly anticipated of the season, for any Premier League fan, in no small part thanks to its sheer ferocity and pace. With the added connotations that arrived with the Suarez/Evra scandal of last year, both teams will be desperate to win this one. With Robin Van Persie now at Old Trafford, this game will most certainly be a tougher challenge. There can be no arguments that he was the best player in England last year (his last gasp goal at Anfield an indication of this), however, with the Kop always on their best form during these 90 minutes, this could be the moment that puts us back on the Premier League’s elite map.
