LIVERPOOL FC striker Luis Suarez has been voted as the most hated player in the Premier League in a poll run by FootballFanCast.com.

Almost 2,000 football fans voted Suarez as their most hated player, over the likes of John Terry and Ashley Cole, with the Uruguayan earning 42 per cent of the overall vote.

Football FanCast asked 12,000 fans to cast their vote on topics such as the traits that they look for in new signings, what makes a footballer likeable or unlikeable and which Premier League player has the biggest ego.

The leading football publisher ran five different polls in an attempt to compose an accurate and comprehensive profile of the modern footballer.

The polls are important when trying to determine what are turn on’s and off’s for Premier League fans.

At the opposite end of the spectrum, the polls found that the most likeable player in the English top flight is Arsenal’s midfielder Mikel Arteta with 28 per cent of the vote.

It’s easy to see why the Spaniard got the nod, with another poll identifying the three most important traits fans look for in their favourite players as: talent (40%), loyalty (32%) and passion (23%).

In the wake of all the recent complaints over diving in the Premier League, it is interesting to note that honesty received the lowest number of votes from fans.

It was no surprise that Manchester City’s Mario Balotelli gained the majority of the votes for biggest ego in the league, with the striker renowned for his antics both on and off the field, acquiring 685 of the 2,000 votes.
