Liverpool target CanosLIVERPOOL FC appear to be looking to Spanish giants Barcelona, to pursue their next target – Sergi Canos.

Canos has risen through the ranks at Barcelona’s academy, La Masia, and looks to be a genuine Liverpool target amid reports from The Express.

However, the Reds will have some stiff competition from other Premiership clubs – with Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea also interested.

Barcelona have reportedly already taken action to warn their starlets not to be overawed or have their heads turned by the lure of massive contracts from other clubs.

For example, according to Spanish news outlet Inside Spanish Football Barcelona have offered Canos a sum of £15,500 for a season, whilst Liverpool have already made an offer that dwarfs that of the Spanish giants, in comparison.

Canos is believed to be interested in a move to Anfield, one potential reason being the Reds’ focus on the youth this season which has resulted in the breakthrough of young stars such as Raheem Sterling and Suso – a fellow Spaniard who rejected the chance to join both Barcelona and Real Madrid, before choosing the Reds.

Another example which will appeal to Canos is that of Jordan Ibe, who was signed from Wycombe Wanderers in December 2011 and was given an opportunity to shine immediately during Liverpool’s summer tour of the United States which has been beneficial for the development of the young players this season.

Hey all, I'm 17 years old and I've only been writing sports articles for a couple of months. I'm an aspiring journalist living in the Anfield area (about 5 minutes from the stadium, seriously, I can hear the roar of the Kop from my house!) I've been a lifelong supporter along with my entire family (except one Uncle, but we don't need to talk about that) and I've followed the Reds through the good and the bad times - and there's been a lot of both. I recently got accepted into college and shall be taking a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Journalism, with this hopefully being the first step towards a full time career in journalism.
