Liverpool FC ChelseaLIVERPOOL FC have slapped a hefty fine on Luis Suarez as a result of his latest misdemeanour, though the club are adamant that he will not be shipped off this summer as a result.

Camera footage showed Suarez sinking his teeth into Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic after a tussle during Sunday’s clash, for which Suarez later apologised for, after the 2-2 draw.

Several Liverpool representatives have already expressed their severe displeasure with Suarez’s conduct; Brendan Rodgers labelling the incident ‘inexcusable.’

The morning after the incident, Suarez took to Twitter to reveal his sanction:

“For my unacceptable behaviour yesterday the club has fined me today, I have asked the club to donate the money to the Hillsborough Family Support Group for the inconvenience I have created to the Liverpool fans and to Ivanovic.”

This is not the first biting incident Suarez has been embroiled in throughout his career. His time at Ajax came to a rather ugly end in November 2010 after he bit PSV Eindhoven midfielder Otman Bakkal on the shoulder during an Eredivisie game.

Suarez was eventually banned for seven games by the Dutch FA, and can expect to find himself in the same situation again, probably spelling the end of his season.

Hey all, I'm 17 years old and I've only been writing sports articles for a couple of months. I'm an aspiring journalist living in the Anfield area (about 5 minutes from the stadium, seriously, I can hear the roar of the Kop from my house!) I've been a lifelong supporter along with my entire family (except one Uncle, but we don't need to talk about that) and I've followed the Reds through the good and the bad times - and there's been a lot of both. I recently got accepted into college and shall be taking a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Journalism, with this hopefully being the first step towards a full time career in journalism.

Another name for the English fa is double standard. If a man u player has done this, it will take fa one week for him to be charged, another week to review the case then, another two weeks to give judgement-a paltry 3-march ban. But, in surez’s case, b/c he is lfc player, he will be charged if it were possible on the same day he committed the offence.
