LFC boss looking to spend further

LFC trainingDESPITE the signing of four players so far this summer, Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has told Sky Sports he is not letting up on spending just yet.

The Northern Irishman has already acquired the services of quartet Kolo Toure, Iago Aspas, Luis Alberto and Simon Mignolet, who all turned up for pre-season training yesterday.

But Rodgers says he’s not finished, and his next target is a player with creativity being one of his primary attributes. The manager, who has recently been linked with Henrikh Mkhitaryan of Shakhtar Donetsk, said of his transfer plans:

“Certainly another attacking player will really benefit us, and probably another defender.

“We’ll see how it develops over the course of the next few months.”

Along with the aforementioned four summer arrivals, Rodgers also brought Daniel Sturridge and Phillipe Coutinho to Anfield, both of whom have proved to be outstanding signings since their arrival in January.

Rodgers’ plan for this summer was to finalise his transfers early in the window, and he has done just that, stating:

“It’s a big thing to the club because we looked at last summer and there were lots of things that were difficult for us. That meant that the opening period of the season was difficult. We brought great signings in in January and that’s really helped us.

“Obviously the plan was to get our signings in as soon as we possibly could – and we still hope to make a few more.

“I’m very happy with the four players I’ve brought in, and they’ll add to the group.”

Hey all, I'm 17 years old and I've only been writing sports articles for a couple of months. I'm an aspiring journalist living in the Anfield area (about 5 minutes from the stadium, seriously, I can hear the roar of the Kop from my house!) I've been a lifelong supporter along with my entire family (except one Uncle, but we don't need to talk about that) and I've followed the Reds through the good and the bad times - and there's been a lot of both. I recently got accepted into college and shall be taking a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Journalism, with this hopefully being the first step towards a full time career in journalism.

The Mhiktaryan deal is very complicated, (go to liverpool-kop.com) there is a very good explanation and discussion on it there.
Mignolet is a top player, so far we have broken even on our ins and outs, so we still have the same budget to spend, plus we will move more surplus players to add to that. I believe more quality will arrive.

LFC-Kop.com is a shameful anti-Liverpool circle jerk. How anyone could read that drivel of a writer and his five or six nitwit followers is beyond me.

Sigh, another transfer window. But compared to last yr, we did our business early. Still, I’m gonna be frustrated if other teams stole our better targets in the end even if LIVERPOOL has been linked with them the whole window. But I wouldn’t be supirised though.

Hoping this yr we finally go to CL with even awesome players and lesser controversies. Firstly to prove teams wrong and second, to gain our respect as one of the best clubs in the world, Liverpool FC. I’m sick of other teams critisizing us and coming to Anfield and being made a mockery (aston villa, 0-3.. Last season, blackpool, 1-2)

Here’s hoping as a Liverpool fan for life

Are liverpool afraid to splash the money on Mkhitaryan?? What are they waiting, the player has made it clear he is interested in a move to Liverpool by not turning up at training.

B Rodgers first and foremost needs to ship out all the dead wood average players still left at club and bring in more class, quality players, so there is more class, quality competition for places and DEPTH within the squad:

The dead wood average hard working players who are still on clubs books who need to be shipped out this summer:

1: GK: B Jones 2: RB: Flanagan 3: CB: Coates 4: DM: Spearing

5: AM: Pacheco 6: RW / RWF: Assaidi 7: LW / LWF: Downing

    8: FD: Borini

Those 8 players will bring the club in £25M on sales, plus the £3-£4m club will make from Sale of T Ince to either Cardiff or Swansea that would be £29M brought in on sales to club.

And also P Reina who has been great loyal servant but been so inconsistant the last three seasons, should be sold to Barcelona in swap deal with C Tello(21) and £2M

And lastly L Suarez(26) if he keeps going on about how badly he wants to leave and play for Real Madrid or Barcelona, he needs to hand in his transfer request and then owners and B Rodgers need to stand firm and not to accept no Offer Less than £55m, the going rate for the third best player in world football at the moment,

Neymar cost Barcelona £61M and Real Madrid’s first offer for Bale was in excess of £65M, Suarez is better than both of these players and should not be sold for no less than £55M. If he is sold for £55-£65M that would be fair play.

And then B Rodgers needs to bring in these 10/Ten players along with C Tello(21) in the swap deal with P Reina to get club challenging for Top 4 and the league THIS Season:

Defensive players: for a Combined total= £35-£54M ( For Now and Future of club / next 3- 8 years) A GK, 3 Centre backs, Left Back and a Defensive Midfielder:

1: GK: A Mccarthy(23) Of Reading for £4-£6M to compete with Mignolet

2: CB: K Papadopolous (21) Of Schalke for £10-£15M to COMPETE with Skrtel

3: CB: Stefan de Vrij (21) Of Feyenoord for £8-£12M to compete with Agger & Toure

4: CB: T Llori(20) Of Sporting Clube De Portugal / Lisbon for £3-£5M to compete with Skrtel and Papadopolous

5:LB: A Cissokho(26) Of Lyon for £3-£6M to compete with Enrique

6: DM: E Capoue(24) Of Toulouse for £7-£10M to compete with LUCAS

4 Attacking players: For combined total= £41-£59M ( For Now and Future of Club/next 3- 8 years) An Attacking Midfielder, Two Wingers and Two Strikers

7: AM: I Munian(20) Of A Bilbao for £10-£15M to compete with Alberto and Coutinho for the AM Position role in first 11

8: LW / LWF: D Capel(25) Of Sporting Clube De Portugal / Lisbon for £4-£7M to compete with Aspas and Ibe for the Left wing / wing forward position in first 11

9: FD: C Benteke(21) Of A Villa for £17-£23M to compete with Sturridge for forward position in first 11

10: FD: L Muriel(23) Of Udinese for £10-£14M to compete with Benteke and Sturridge for forward position in first 11

The 8 dead wood average players need to be shown the door as soon as possible this summer and P Reina is great world class goalkeeper who has been great servant to club, but maybe it is time for a change and he is no longer going to be first choice and Barcelona, Arsenal and Napoli all want him.

So Rodgers should get the best deal he can out of Reina, which is C Tello(21) and £2M, A Young, quick, pacey attacking players with class, quality and alot of potential.

Otherwise Reina should not be sold for no less than £10M between the £10-£14M bracket.

Then with the 8 dead wood average players shipped out and the two world class players also shipped out ( Plus Shelvey £5-£6M) then the 11 players i have mentioned should all be brought to club.

And there would be class quality competition for every position at club, like the great Liverpool teams in the 80’s were

And our club could have two sides capable of causing any team trouble in league and the cup:

Premier League side : First 11

    Mignolet
    Johnson Skrtel Agger Enrique

    Lucas Gerrard

    Tello Coutinho Capel

    Benteke

FA Cup and Carling cup: First 11:

    Mccarthy
    Kelly Papadopolous Toure Cissokho
    Capoue Allen
    Sterling Alberto Aspas
    Sturridge

Both teams have good young class goalkeeper, Both teams have two solid centre backs, Both teams have two good powerful strong attacking full backs, both teams have class quality defensive midfielder, Both teams have players who will dictate tempo of play, both teams have creative attacking midfielder. And both teams have alot of mobility, pace, quality and speed in the front line.
