Appearance No Indication Of Suarez’s Future

AustraliaAS Liverpool FC took to the field against Melbourne Victory at Melbourne Cricket Ground at the ridiculously unfairly early time of 11am (I’m at work, Liverpool, come on!) many Reds and many other fans around the world will have been watching with interest to see whether Luis Suarez was in the squad and what this might mean.

Whether, by now, he’s played 45 minutes or had a 45 second cameo is irrelevant. No matter the groundswell of support for the striker or the positive words of team-mates and club alike, we will not know whether Luis Suarez is going to still be a Liverpool player once the season properly gets under-way until the transfer window closes officially.

Since he flew in to meet up with the rest of the squad and his team-mates on Sunday, many of those Twitter journalists and ‘in the know’ types have made a meal out of the slightest comments made by either the player or his fellow Liverpool team-mates, with some going as far as to tell us that a number of fans asked him at the airport if he was going to stay to which the answer was, of course, in the positive.

It’s even highly likely that at this time not even Suarez himself has any idea where his future will lie. Given some of his actions over recent seasons, it’s even more unlikely that he does, given how he often doesn’t seem to know what he’s going to do from one minute to the next.

As of the time of writing, Arsenal have just made an increased bid for the striker which appears to be in the area of £35 million [since confirmed as £40m plus £1 to activate his ‘notification’ clause] + add-ons for trophy wins which is laughable considering that we’ve been eminently more successful than Arsenal in this department in recent years and also considering they’re at least £20 million short of the now purported asking price.

At the present time, I’m not sure whether I want the money or the player. His actions have, sadly, confused my feelings toward him but there is no doubting we’d have a hard time replacing him.

But, with each passing pre-season game and every week of training in the build-up to the season that goes by, Liverpool’s fans will only find their hope increasing that the player will remain a Red for 12 more months at least.

And with the player currently being back with his squad and the club’s staff, things do certainly look a lot more positive than they have done in a couple of months, I will only say: don’t count your chickens, there’s a lot of time left between now and September 1st and a hell of a lot can change between now and then.

Luis suarez is wonderfully made he knows that liverpool and the fan simply love him more than any thing. He’s seeing quite show of soliderity by the club maneger, the staff and the fan around the world. He knows the heart that weeps for wanting his love. Luis will stay for lfc at least one more season.

  • Tmoney says:

we cant force him to stay,if he wants to go. its better we get another talented player to replace him,who can fit in with the team.

  • Raam says:

When he created the second goal,he was like killed someone.not even a little joy we used to see last season.this is of cause after Arsenal put in the obscene amount..if LS has any bit of self respect in himself he would think twice of going to not just Arsenal but any other EPL club. And is BR that naive to talk about loyalty in the era of selfish individual gains? This kind of players are mercenaries who will do anything for money. All this about wanting CL games are just bull#%*t.

You will never get loyalty from a foreign player. Stop getting attached to these players. If he goes, he goes. Loyalty comes from english players especially scousers. This is the world we live in. Suarez has no love for liverpool. They pay his wages. Simple as that. If a better deal comes along he will go. Just like torres and mascherano. This is the way it is. If you want loyalty then play 11 scousers. Otherwise, just accept this will happen and move one

I think if suarez wants to go then get 50mil and move on. We would be better off.. Every season he is banned for alot of games. The owners were gonna sign a marque player so they should take the 50mil for suarez.. Buy Erriksen(15m), Bernard (18m), Soldado(22m), Papadopolus(15m) and try and get Scott Sinclair on loan from Man City… Hell maybe even sell downing n buy sinclair??? 100% we will be in the Top 4. YNWA!

Ahhh, arsenal. They have the money but don’t panic. 50 million plus it no deal.
The thing is, Wenger is a clever boy. He has seen the gap beetwin spurs and arsenal close to a point! Spurs have strengthened with paulinho, Sandro is back, plus looking for a striker. Suddenly the point lead looks very shaky. In fact, the balance of power for that 4’th place is with spurs as things stand! Wouldn’t you agree??
40 million would all bit guarantee another 10 points or so for arsenal. 5 million in wages and luis goes to real for 50 million next year. We are left with tears and they have a laugh!!!
John Henry, play hardball over this. Gloves off, let him go on our terms. If this drags on for another 2 weeks , add another 10 million to the 50. Remember, they face the same challange as us. Which is finishing in the top 4. No Suarez replacement for us, no chance of CL football (unless we get the right price which would bring in 3 players which would contribute 25-30 goals! )
BUT, the same applies to arsenal. No Suarez and that 1 point lead which got them 4’th looks very , very shaky. In fact, if arsenal don’t buy a class player or two, the wont finish ahead of spurs this season.
    YNWA

Watching the game the way he carried himself spoke volumes to me, he looked like a man who is intending to be somewhere else as soon as he can. He certainly didn’t seem the same player in terms of enthusiasm and there wasn’t the usual effort or anything really in the goal celebration despite providing the assist. Not sure about the foreign player loyalty thing mentioned elsewhere given the likes of Molby, Sami Hyypia and say Lucas now but Suarez… well his head has been turned and his “heart” is no longer with us, despite all the support he’s had. Pretty disgusted he can’t give us one more season out of respect to that if nothing else but he’s shown his true colours with all this…. I have to move away from the British media…oh hang on I quite like the look of Arsenal now… crap. Still have a sneaky feeling Real Madrid will come calling now Higuain is basically off to join Rafa, which would be better again. Whichever it is, let him go for as much as we can get. FSG and BR have shown their resolve to make sure that happens at least, then forget about him.

I believe it is time to bid farewell to LS . No point keeping a player that is no longer happy to play for us . We might as well cash in on him and buy better players . Don’t forget Liverpool played much better in the last 4 games without Suarez in last season.

  • allaboutanfield says:

Sadly we will never get any loyalty in today’s football world. Football clubs are run as a business venture . It is all out to generate wealth for its shareholders. Any player or manager who can enhance that value will most likely highly regarded . Players who don’t contribute this value is always likely to be sold off .

  • Raam says:

Shhhh…loyalty is a bad word in todays football. Wenger is a clever boy someone said…yeah right!! Hes so clever that he dismantled the invincibles single handedly. Hes so clever he has not won a single trophy for nearly five years or maybe more. Hes so clever he sold his star player to title rival..If the clever boy wants our player so badly, pay the asking amount and bring him to wherever you like. If not clever boy should shut up.

  • Ozred says:

    Go reds!!!!!!!!

  • red says:

The so called fans (some call it FSG cyber-troopers) now trying to ‘imagine’ a reason to justify Suarez sales. Think Bush’s ‘WMD’ as the reason in Iraq. No need for that FSG. Genuine fans can see your promises and compare with what being done in practice.

    • Greg says:

You seem to be completely missing the point…no-one needs to justify Suarez’s sale…as HE is the one who has initiated it and has been very actively agitating for it ever since. This is a man who first claimed he wanted out because of the British media and now is holding talks with a direct competitor of ours….despite receiving so much support along the way it is unbelievable… it is down to no-one else but him.
There are concerns about FSG in some quarters, some of it may be legit some of it not, but trying to pin this on them too is just ridiculous.

  • allaboutanfield says:

Seriously when did e gunners last win a major trophy?

  • Raam says:

FSG is just doing whats profitable. Like Greg said, blaming them for everything is not wise. If fans who buy ticket to watch a game and wants the team to win as a return, imagine what FSG would want in return for their investments. Suarez is fork tounge. A snake. He created this whole drama. And we all fell for it. His move to Arsenal might even be a scam made by his agent as a stepping stone to a more lucrative club.

    • Terry says:

You got it! Suarez is a mercenary! Arsenal will find that out if he goes there! Has he handed in a transfer request? Or would that cost him money.
