Wright-SuarezLIVERPOOL striker Luis Suarez has been told to rebuff the interest of Arsenal in favour of staying at Liverpool, despite the lack of Champions League football.

This has come from none other than former Arsenal striker Ian Wright, who has called on Suarez to remain at Anfield for at least another year and has doubts over Arsenal’s ability to attract other top class players.

According to BBC Sport, Wright stated:

“I’d welcome him at Arsenal with open arms. But if I was Suarez, when you look at everything, it does seem strange he would want to go to Arsenal.

“I would give Liverpool another season.

“Arsenal finally realise they’ve got to get up there with the big boys otherwise they will be left behind.

“Suarez is a world-class striker and if he didn’t have all the baggage around him, I feel the Barcelonas, Real Madrids and Bayern Munichs would be sniffing around.

“That’s why I believe Arsenal should try to bring him in – because I feel it’s the only time they could get someone like that. In another market, I don’t think he’d even look at Arsenal.

“We need to see something I’ve not seen Arsenal do for many years and that is compete to sign players that Manchester United would want, that Manchester City would want and that Chelsea would want.

“But they’re running out of time and I don’t think, at the moment, they’ve got the ability to attract those players because they haven’t won anything in such a long time. This is why Arsenal are in serious trouble right now.”

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has also come out to say that Suarez should turn down Arsenal for Liverpool and that Arsenal are just top four rivals, not in the same league as Real Madrid or Barcelona.

Wright added:

“Gerrard is not someone who comes out and says things flippantly. If you look at Arsenal – not won anything in eight years, just challenging for fourth place, not really any players there who will make him say ‘I’m going to play with him and him – Gerrard has got a point.”

Suarez scored 30 goals in 44 appearances for Liverpool last season, and has 51 in total from 96 appearances since his move from Ajax in January 2011.

Leaving aside Wright’s attitude towards Arsenal since his exit, in this particular set of quotes where exactly does he urge Suarez to snub Arsenal? All we have here is some incoherent collection of sentences not adding up to anything. For the length of his speech he actually says very little. Still, the one thing he manages to come through from this interview is what a sad person Wright is. He has to constantly bad-mouth Arsenal that’s what he does for a living. He probably doesn’t believe all that * he wrote and said over the years, but he just has to provide * time and time again, that’s what he is paid for, that’s what the media that pays him expects. Such a pathetic person Wright is. Okay, he probably isn’t complaining, but still he is a *.

Funny that Suarez wants to move so badly to Arsenal. Doing and saying all sorts of thing( like hes the victim) .That Liverpool broke their promise when signed the new deal a year ago. Did the deal included biting opponents? Getting banned for 10 matches.? If he was not banned that much including the Evra incident,Liverpool might have qualified for CL. Who knows rite? But if he is so desperate to move than why is he hasitating to hand in a written transfer request?!! Is there anything behind it? And to Arsenal fans, there nothing wrong in the clubs pursuit for the player but imagine this; lets say someone wants to buy your most prized possession and your value for the item is more than £40m.And the person offers you only £1 more. Will you jump with joy? Henry was very sporting when he asked what are they smoking at Emirates..but if it was a auction event, the organisers might kick you out rudely.
