brazil lfc targetATLETICO Mineiro have given their clearest indication yet that £20 million Liverpool FC target Bernard will be sold this summer.

The playmaker’s current coach, Cuca, believes the starlet will leave the newly-crowned Copa Libertadores champions this summer having fulfilled his duties for the club, and admits it is now time for him to move to Europe.

Bernard, who is also chased by Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund and FC Porto, possibly played his last game in Série A last Wednesday during an eventful game which saw him score, then receive a red card.

The 20 year old left the pitch to thunderous applause from the home support, leaving Cuca to state after the game:

“You have to see all the good he did. He went from heaven to hell, but he’s a great player and is very important. The sending off also serves as a lesson to him not to do that again.

“He will travel, will do his stuff. I know I have to say that he has fulfilled his part. It is very difficult, almost impossible for him to stay here.”

The young Brazilian has been catching the eye of many of Europe’s elite clubs with his performances for Galo. Although lacking in physical stature, he has the skilled dribbling, dazzling footwork and technical prowess to match many of the world’s best playmakers. He’s most comparable fellow countryman Oscar and Philippe Coutinho, who both play a similar style of football to Bernard.

Despite expending much of his efforts going forward, Bernard doesn’t shy away from his defensive duties, tracking back and putting a tackle in where necessary. There is no doubt that he has learnt a lot from his time playing with Ronaldinho at Atlético and his game has improved dramatically. His energetic displays will make him a valuable addition to any of the rumoured, potential suitors.

The likes of Chels*, Man City and Manure are going through a transition atm and the start of the season might prove a bit tough for them, so I believe it’s LFC’s chance to beat them to this and get back up there! YNWA!
