LiverpoolTHE three injuries picked up during the Capital One Cup tie against Notts County dominate the build up to the match against Manchester United reports The Liverpool Echo.

Liverpool FC lost Joe Allen, Kolo Toure and Aly Cissokho all to injury during the game at Anfield on Tuesday evening.

Toure’s injury would appear to be the worst, he left Anfield on crutches and Brendan Rodgers was quoted as saying:

“Kolo’s groin opened up a wee bit. He overstretched his groin and it doesn’t look so good to be honest. We need to assess it.”

There was slightly better news about Aly Cissokho with the manager saying:

“Cissokho shouldn’t be too long as he’s got a knock in his ankle. He was distraught to come off in his first start here.”

However, the news on Allen was not as good, although further tests will need to be carried out, Rodgers said:

“Joe Allen’s may well be a hamstring so we’ll have a look at that. It wasn’t a good night injury-wise.”

Rodgers was able to give some good news on the injury front with him confirming that Martin Skrtel was fit and available for selection after returning to full training during the week.
