LFC fanThe Metro today reports that Liverpool FC are planning a move for boyhood Red and teenage sensation, Will Hughes.

Liverpool are this week poised to make a £6 million bid for the Derby County wonder-kid.

Although competition is rife for the signing of the highly rated young teenager, Liverpool are confident of beating the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea to the punch and hope to conclude a deal early next week.

Boyhood Red Hughes has been a player admired by those at Anfield for a while now and with other near misses in the transfer market, those who make the decisions at Anfield have decided to move now for Hughes, rather than wait and be beaten to the punch once more.

Liverpool sent head scout Dave Fallows to watch Hughes play for England U21s against their Scottish counterparts last week.

Fallows would have come away impressed with the performance of the all action midfielder who, even though he is only 18 years old has racked up nearly 50 first team appearances.

Whether Liverpool plan to buy Hughes now and then loan him back to Derby County remains to be seen.

However, Brendan Rodgers has already shown he is not afraid to play the younger members of his squad if he feels they deserve to play.

We should go for him – buy & then loan at current club to grow.

Already we have lost 6 English players (Carra, Shelvey, Downing, Carroll, Cole & Spearing) in last 2 years & SG might retire in 3-4 years time. There ‘ll be a certain time when we ‘ll need minimum no. of English players in playing XI. Unless we grow the stock of English players, in future either we ‘ll have to pay obnoxious amount for them, or ‘ll have to play the likes of Spearings, Downings, Carrolls & Shelveys (Average player with unworthy salary).

Yes we need to buy him. Instead of chasing the likes of willian we need english talent like this. What are we eaiting for?

    • Rich says:

      • Jk says:

Pretty sure he meant waiting you sarcastic *

      • stevie says:

eaiting is another word for waiting!! put the offer in today and get the deal done. stop mucking about. he may be a championship player now but the boy obviously has talent. sign him now

  • Kilasho says:

Signing him will nt mak us qualify for CL . You fools.

  • Kevin says:

Perhaps we are waiting for spurs or another club to nip in and get there before us, what’s with the bidding next week nonsense, do professional business men really act this way 🙁

  • Sirwhite1000 says:

    Get him now or never!

  • allaboutanfield says:

Now we are getting players from Championship side ?

  • Raam says:

Yes..W.Hughes is a talented player. This was what i talked about in another forum..dont wait for another transfer window. Get potential players now and loan them back to their current club. Again i say, do the same with L.Muriel and Luciano Vietto. If we wait, their value will skyrocket next season and i dont think we can afford them.

  • REDDY says:

We will pay over 15mil for Luis Murial and we should loan him back to udinese!?

  • FSG Out says:

Will Hughes has started a twitter uproar, he follows the racist EDL account and their leader. Absolutely should never be signed by this great club. FSG yet again show how dumb they are by even being linked to this player. They should have denied publicly the possibility of signing this idiot. The club will be dragged through the gutter again, all these controversies like Suarez etc have occurred under FSG’s ownership. Coincidence? Or just rank idiotic leadership. I think the latter.
