Has Shaqiri Chosen Liverpool Over United?

Xherdan Shaqiri (Bayern Munich)As the final week before the World Cup began its’ countdown yesterday, Liverpool seemed to increase their activity in the transfer market, as a reported move for Sevilla’s Alberto Moreno looks to be close to being sealed and reports suggested that Bayern Munich’s Xherdan Shaqiri has seen a £15 million offer from the Reds accepted by his club.

Shaqiri is thought to be looking for a move away from Bayern, as his first-team chances at the club have been limited in the past 12 months, and a move to Liverpool is thought to be his preference, after Manchester United were linked with the player also.

With Liverpool having Champions League football next season, United having missed out for the first time in decades and Liverpool having some of the most attractive attacking players already at the club, it would seem that Liverpool have once again become a great prospect for the continents best talent.

If the stories in this morning press are true, then it just goes to show the importance of Champions League football when it comes to attracting the best players in Europe. And if Liverpool do bring in a player of Shaqiri’s quality, then there is no doubt they’ll be challenging for the top spots in the Premier League for many seasons to come.

What do you think, is Shaqiri on his way to Liverpool?

I hope to God that’s true like, he’s a boss player. Prefer him to Lallana.

thats the kind of signings weve been waiting for. Too bad we dont go for Contreo instead of Moreno though. and i would like parejo to come as well but we do need an AM. Shaqiri is not instead of a lallana signing in my view.

So good bayern munich want to sell him. Wish you lot would stop getting carried away with mediocre signings

  • Darren Mckenna says:

Hope to see this deal going trough ASAP as if he has a good world cup the price will double.I don’t think his signing will stop LFC going back for lallana although 25 mil for lallana is OTT rather get faberagas.I just seen stats on Can and they are not very good,if he was a top player Munich would have invoked there buy back clause and they didn’t and that says it all for me,

Well to say shaqiri is a mediocre player is crap talk the lad has lost his way a little with the form of Robben and ribery he didn’t get many chances,as if i,am right he played on the right for FC Basel.I think given a run of games he will be a gem.

  • malik says:

    gud signing if brendan gets him.far better than lallana.he has d shootn ability,pace n awareness.dat ll b a great signing by lfc.YNWA!!!

  • Roger says:

Its not surprising for Shaqiri to choose LFC. The Reds are playing some exciting football at the moment and with the so called ‘mediocre squad’, managed to push the title challenge to the final day. Unlike certain club who determined to and wrestled and knock LFC even from seventh position where we were the previous season, LFC will be competing in 4 front. If It is true Shaqiri will be a Red next season , we shall prepare to see some ‘Shaq Attack.
