Suarez: ‘My apologies to Chiellini’

In what is not the most surprising move we will ever see, Luis Suarez has now issued an official apology to Italy’s Chiellini for the bite that’s once again halted his explosive career. Announcing on Twitter this evening that ‘I deeply regret what occurred’ and that he apologizes to ‘the entire football family’.

With Suarez likely to appeal his ban, it’s the only sensible move he could’ve made, but is in direct contradiction to the quotes from his response to FIFA’s charge last week and appears to have been the result of many days of reflection and discussions with family, his agent and advisors.

But while finally admitting that his actions were wrong, apologizing for these actions and declaring that these incidents will never occur again, there is clearly still a long way to go before Suarez can again be forgiven, particularly as the ban has – if anything – punished his club much more, with him likely to miss up to 14 games at the start of next season.

I’ve been against Suarez’s sale from the beginning but his sudden apology to Chiellini gives the impression he is indeed planed for a move. If thats what he wants plus with the current situation, it would be best to let him leave for at least 70m£ + Sanchez. Sad to even think a season without him but no player is bigger than the club. LFC always have the ability to find the finest strikers out there,so trust they’ll find one immediately before they send away Suarez.
