After reports earlier in the summer that linked Liverpool with AC Milan’s Italian striker, Mario Balotelli, the club are again being linked with a move for the troublesome forward, as a number of sources claim that the Reds are preparing to make a bid.
Corriere cello Sport report that AC Milan are encouraging Liverpool to make a bid for the striker and would accept as little as £14.5 million to move the forward on.
Further strengthening these reports, Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers was very open in his praise of the Italian striker prior to the 2-nil victory over his current side on Saturday night, saying “I saw that in this time at Inter as a young player and obviously going to Manchester City when we had a real close eye on him there. He’s a big talent.
“If his focus is right, his concentration is right and he leads the lifestyle of a top player then he can play for any team in the world.”
High praise indeed, from the Liverpool manager, and may have been all the encouragement AC Milan needed to urge the Reds to lodge a bid for their player.
Would you welcome the signing of Balotelli, or considering the trouble Suarez caused for the club, should we steer clear of such a character?
