The Norwegian youngster looks to have his sights set on Liverpool, if the club want him

The 15 year old that some are opting to heap enormous pressure on in labeling him the ‘new Messi’ has apparently told Manchester United, amongst others, that he would prefer to wait to see if there is interest from his boyhood heroes Liverpool before making a decision on his future, according to a number of sources, including the Express.

Youngster, Martin Odegaard, who will turn 16 in December this year, only made his debut in club football this year and quickly followed this with his senior international debut against the United Arab Emirates on 27th August, appearing again in his nation’s European Championship qualification game against Bulgaria. In that game he broke a long-standing record for youngest ever player to appear in a European Championship qualification game.

The Stromsgodset midfielder has played 20 times this season, chipping in 5 goals and has turned heads all season long with his incredible and mature performances, drawing praise from all corners of world football.

With the player known to be a huge Liverpool fan, it would appear that Brendan Rodgers has a trump card to play, should he show any interest in the youngster. Quite frankly if he doesn’t, then you’d have to ask some serious questions about Liverpool’s youth scouts!

Should Liverpool use this to their advantage and strike a deal to sign Martin in January?

Rodger’s move in quickly, we need a large pool of talented players for the future! More so, Martin Odegaard is a Liverpool fan!

Liverpool is currently underperforming and we need to strengthen the team for now and the future. By the way, LFC should sign one or two great players in January if we have to appear in European football next season.

The club always has to keep on top of snapping up talented young players and this lad looks a class apart. Agree about signing Dele Alli too though. Get them both in Jan and a proper striker like Berahino.
