Liverpool Player Ratings vs QPR

|

Goalkeeper/Defence

Simon Mignolet – After a few good early saves, Mignolet cowered on his line every time QPR made moves in the Liverpool box. Running out of alternatives to express ‘must improve’ but with rumours of a former Barcelona ‘keeper due to enter negotiations with the Reds soon, it could be too late for the Belgian to make his mark at last. Rating – 4

Glen Johnson – All things considered, it could’ve been a much worse day for Johnson. Already ousted to back-up to a 20 year old loanee, Johnson came in and, while not doing anything too special, applied himself and worked fairly hard. Most notably, he made a clearance in the first half that may have provided the platform for a late win. Rating – 6

Martin Skrtel – Once more, Martin Skrtel stood out as the best in the Reds defence. Little else to say, other than leading his defence to a clean sheet once in a while wouldn’t go amiss! Rating – 6

Dejan Lovren – Another mixed display from the £20 million man who, much like Sakho last season, goes from one extreme to the other; making terrible errors one minute, producing match-saving tackles the next. Some level of consistency needs to develop, and soon. Rating – 5

Jose Enrique – A really decent cameo from Enrique again, who showed that the left-back spot is the most healthy area of the team, with two quality Spaniards able to compete and offer Liverpool attacking threat and defensive solidity in equal measures. Rating – 6
