Goalkeeper/Defence
Brad Jones – After multiple attempts at looking convincing, Mignolet should be benched to give Brad Jones a chance to stake a claim until Liverpool have a suitable back up at the club.
Javier Manquillo – Johnson showed again recently that his days at Liverpool are over, and that he doesn’t look particularly fussed. And, after a couple of rests recently, it would do Javier good to get a good run going.
Kolo Toure – After a clean sheet at the weekend, it would be preferable to keep the pairing together but Skrtel has played almost every game this season and will be needed in the games against Newcastle and Real Madrid.
Dejan Lovren – As Wisdom, Coates and Ilori are loaned out – and Sakho still injured – it stands to reason that one of Lovren or Skrtel will have to stay in the side and the big Croat really must play himself into form, meaning the chance to play against a likely weakened Swansea team will be a good opportunity to work further towards form.
Jose Enrique – A solid back-up to Moreno, the very popular Spanish full back will come in and do a good job, affording Moreno the chance to have a mid-week break.
Liverpool need to win this match to at least show that we are still title contenders
