The young attacker was easily the Red’s most impressive player last night

The run of disappointing displays and results came to an end last night, in the Capital One Cup as Liverpool came through a potential banana skin to record a 3-1 victory and secure the team’s progression into the semi-finals of the league cup competition.

All-round it’s fairly hard to find a poor performance and, in light of a return to the buccaneering attacking displays we witnessed all last season it would be unfair to look for any negatives after finding it so hard to look for any positives of late.

I'm a 32 year old Liverpool fan, living in the heart of the City Centre. I've supported the club since the day I was born and have been writing articles for L4L for over 3 years, writing close over 350 articles in that time. My favorite player of the past generation is Sami Hyypia.

I am the current editor for L4L, with my day job being in R&D for the NHS.

It’s incredible fans are getting excited about the league cup, Kenny won this trophy and got sacked yet BR is being hailed a hero. Serious double standards. ????????????????
