Liverpool really need a ‘pick me up’

FSG failed to replace Suarez, they can't fail to replace Gerrard too

FSG failed to replace Suarez, they can’t fail to replace Gerrard too

I’m Spartacus

This will be the biggest moment of FSG’s time with Liverpool. Their defining chapter. Something which they have had experience of and failed at, so a chance to show they have learned from their mistakes. Steven Gerrard can not be replaced but has left a hole to fill. Who fills it will show the intent, desire and direction FSG are taking.

This player needs to be someone to build the team around, has the experience and the influence to drive the team forward, above all else an out and out leader in voice and in actions. They had a practice run when Suarez left and failed, time to learn those lessons! No penny pinching, no quick fix, no haggling, identify and get it done.

you are right. my dilemma is whether to blame Rodgers for all these or fsg. I concur with you on the samy hyppia issue and also the retention of our good players. lovren is bad. but I don’t know whether its the tactical defense training that’s a problem or the personnel.
