Inter striker, and former Sampdoria player, Icardi is believe to be on Liverpool’s radar

The Italian giants remain far below the full might of the powers, with their last recent spell of success coming under Mourinho with the treble of the Italian league, cup and Champions League in 2010.
That side was ageing however and was not properly replaced, leading to the repercussions of the last few years away from Europe’s top table. This season they are eight points off the top three and Champions League qualification, so, like with Liverpool, the Europa League may be their best hope of returning to the elite.
They certainly have the capability with manager Roberto Mancini, who has enjoyed plenty of success with Inter Milan, including three league titles. Furthermore, their squad may not be of the standard of 2010, but with Nemanja Vidic, Samir Handanovic, Mauro Icardi, Fredy Guarin, Andrea Ranocchia and new boys Xherdan Shaqiri and Lukas Podolski, Inter Milan have the quality to beat Liverpool.
Moreover, the San Siro is an incredibly intimidating place to go because of its sheer size (over 80,000 capacity) – even if the Reds won there on their last visit! Threat Rating: 8/10
