Emre Can – The impressive German wasn’t at his best last night, at least while he was playing at centre back, but once he pushed into midfield in the second half he looked much more at home. His calls for Daniel Sturridge to join the goal celebrations and his generally commanding demeanour may well have just given him a foot in the door for any future captaincy discussions. Rating – 7

The ratings are good but they should stop attacking my super mario
Sturridge is doing well but should not be selfish in distributing the ball. The team scoring goal is very important
Sturridge was totally out of order. If Henderson, as captain, decides to let Balotelli take the penalty, Sturridge shouldn’t be throwing a strop.
