After a narrow victory in mid-week over Turkish giants Besiktas, a long trip to the South coast to face the high-flying Southampton was the last thing the team needed. With a number of players rotated out of Brendan Rodgers’ side today it looked as if next Thursday’s European second leg was being favoured, with the likes of Moreno, Sturridge and Sakho all out.
How wrong we were, as the Reds put in a minimalist master-class. The Saints were allowed much of the possession but offered little in the way of a threat, as the Liverpool defence settled after a shaky start. The win now puts the team just two points off a Champions League place, three behind third place Arsenal.

dat match was very grateful
All the players gave their best. But, some were average – e.g, Markovic was like an amatuer – Ibe must always be selected ahead of him; Henderson, to be honest, was average, and, this will always remind us that if we must compete with the likes of Barc & Real, we must find a far more better AM – his arm band notwithstanding ; Sturidge was selfish, and, this shows us that we must sign another top flight striker -even if it means pushing out Borini & lambert; Sterling, apart from his goal wasteful with the ball & looking very tired – and one wonders what could be making a 20yr old to be tired- clubing?.
