Glen Johnson – A few months ago, there were apparently discussions about a new contract for Johnson but those have thankfully died down, with rumours of pre-contract agreements having been signed at other clubs.
Regardless of where Glen ends up this summer, it’s clear that his mind has not been on the job for a couple of years and he’s simply been going through the motions. He has looked world class at times but those occasions were all too rare and the audible groans when he’s warming up now tell you all you need to know: Johnson won’t be at Anfield next season.
Johnson will go down as another tale of a talented English footballer that could’ve been so much more. While he wouldn’t necessarily be ‘sold’ in the summer, it’s certainly time for him to go.
