It’s been a relatively slow week, with regards Liverpool transfer business, with just the two player’s posing against the backdrop of the Liver building or an enormous LFC flag. Admittedly, both of those players were already signed long ago but they all count.
But today’s press are reporting transfer ‘boosts’ for two players that would be at the very top of any Red’s wishlist: Asier Illarramendi and Alexandre Lacazette.
According to the Daily Mail, Rafa Benitez and his Real Madrid side are weighing up a move for William Carvalho. This, claim the paper, is a sign that Rafa would be willing to sell the 25 year old who, while very highly rated, has struggled to usurp the more illustrious names in the Madrid squad.
A fee of around £16 million is mentioned and, of course, it’s likely the Reds would go a bit higher to ensure we capture a genuine top class midfielder after the former captain’s recent departure. But we’ll just have to wait to see on this one, maybe holding out a bit of hope that Rafa may play ball.
As far as Lacazette goes, this one still seems a bit unlikely and the longer the story has little in the way of concrete evidence behind it the less likely it is that it’ll happen.
However, reports from L’Equipe claim that the Lyon striker is now preparing to hand in a transfer request to get his move away and he doesn’t necessarily need to be playing for a club in the Champions League.
If that is the case then the club president is going to look very silly after arrogantly dismissing interest from Liverpool last month.
It’s important to note though, that most of the English press have put two and two together on this one, without a mention of Liverpool from the French, conclusions have obviously been jumped to.
Either way, it’s nice to see a couple of quality players being linked in amongst all the potential future dead wood.
Should the club go all out for these two targets? Let us know your thoughts below.
Liverpool need two top players like this to show the fans that were going in the right direction. We don’t want to set standards of finishing in top four we need to set standards of winning the league
spot on their mate
Yes most definitly would make the team very strong
Both players are important for Liverpool they should sign them up quickly if they are to compeat for top four challenge
@Ian u are very right, we are not supposed to set our mind on top four at list we have to aim winning the premier league tittle
Liverpool is a grate club we have to create fear on rivers once again by signing quality players
Yes that is the best option, if we want to win trophy
Why not… I c no reason why liverpool should not take up that advantage if they actually mean business the next season, I belief they should learned their lesson at last season campaign by nt buyin quality players, they’ve been robbed times without number in transfer market due to liverpools sluggishness in makin deals complete and they pay for to the fullest.. Must that happen to them again? If they are serious…. They should make good business this summer… Buying a lot of little player without subsquent top class player in the depth will not help a big club like liverpool… Becauses where are the top class player in which the little one’s coming in would learn from in the specific role needed in the club…. Liverpool do deals that will create fear in our opponent coming to us or going out to meet… We are losing patience oo!!!!
I will need Alexandre Lacazette.
