Four Players Likely To Leave LFC

Never really given a chance but Borini will be moved on this summer

Fabio Borini

Despite being Brendan Rodgers’ first signing as Liverpool boss, almost since he arrived Fabio Borini has been constantly linked with a move away from Anfield.

He struggled to adjust in his first season, scoring only 2 goals in 20 appearances, although he did suffer a couple of injury problems.

However, a season-long loan with Sunderland proved very productive for the Italian international, netting 10 goals and putting in consistently positive performances, especially in the big games, such as the Tyne-Wear derbies and the League Cup final.

Yet when he returned to Liverpool for 2014/15, it became clear that, whilst a hard worker, Borini did not have the sufficient quality to succeed at the highest level for Liverpool. He only made 18 appearances, scoring once, and his decision not to join Sunderland a year ago for £14m was costly, both for him and the club.

Now available at apparently £10m, Italian clubs Lazio and Fiorentina have been linked with various cut-price and loan deals, while West Ham also have an interest.

Sadly Liverpool will probably lose Borini for half the money they could have had a year ago, but with new signings Danny Ings, Roberto Firmino, Divock Origi and Benteke, Borini’s days at Anfield are surely numbered.

There is urgent need to sort out the left back position. Moreno is not good enough for the big games neither is it safe to be playing Gomez out of place. Remember Sterling’s complaints.
