Popular German manager Klopp has been linked with LFC again today

With Brendan Rodgers increasingly coming under pressure with results continuing to go against his side, rumours about the Northern Irishman’s future, and who is going to replace him, are likely to become the norm.

Today, there are reports that Liverpool could well get in contact with former Borussia Dortmund manager, Jurgen Klopp, to discuss taking over from Rodgers in November.

Quite why November, we can’t say, but German football expert Raphael Honigstein has told the Guardian, in the paper’s weekly football podcast, that he believes Liverpool could contact Klopp soon to sit down and discuss potentially replacing Brendan Rodgers.

Honigstein said: “It’s no secret by now that Liverpool have tried twice to get Klopp to take over.

“They didn’t go for him in the summer when he was clearly available, so they stuck with Brendan Rodgers.

“I believe—and I have to say this isn’t backed up by any hard facts—but there’s a sense from talking to one or two people that maybe there’s an opportunity to sit down and discuss things going forward maybe in November.

“I’m not sure if that’s directly related to what Liverpool are doing this season, or maybe it’s for next season, or maybe it’s just exploratory talks.”

So, we get two revelations in one: Liverpool are possibly going to contact Klopp, going forward, and that the club have already been in touch with him before.

Considering that Honigstein claims we didn’t go in for the German manager in the summer, it’s difficult to fathom when these other two times are that we’ve tried to get Klopp. But the German journalist’s claims alone will raise the spirits of many Liverpool fans who are ready for a change.

Do you believe Honigstein’s claims, or is this just baseless speculation? Let us know what you think in the comments.

As an LFC fan, i beleive liverpool will never learn specially what happens last year by signing quantity of players over quality.
This year again happened by signing two costly players that will not be able to help the team.
BR should go as fast as possible.

The modern day football manager has to have the intrinsic cunning of a fox, the innate skills of a diplomat and a degree in collective psychology and even with all of the above attributes, could still be kicked out like Christmas trees in January if the return on investments and the points tally don’t make sense. Pray tell … what is Rodgers’ still doing at the helm? It is brave but myopic for FSG to hand over an institution like Liverpool Football Club to a rookie who has no pedigree. He is trying to build the plane while flying it … and that is dangerous! YNWA

  • doobalyniraj says:

what are you waiting for???…rodgers should be sacked at the very moment….he is not worth to be Liverpool Manager. We have been very very very much patient with him..enough is enough now…get us Klopp and you will see the transformation….he has won lots of trophies during his career ……and what has B Rodgers won ??/ NOTHING DURING HIS CAREER….we have to get someone with winning mentality and who commands respect from his players…Liverpool F.C is Liverpool. i.e a great club….. and not a middle class team..we need top class manager…
