How should Liverpool line up against Bordeaux?

Simon Mignolet – Perhaps if the team can get themselves into a strong position after 3-4 games, there may be room to give Bogdan a chance. For now though, Mignolet has to start.

Joe Gomez – We’d previously gone for Clyne, citing no alternatives but to either play Jordan Ibe there or bring in a defender to play out of position. Just for the sake of playing a left footer there, we’ve gone for Joe Gomez.

Kolo Toure – In fairness, after Skrtel’s horror show against Martial at the weekend, we were undecided about whether Toure should be given a runout. But given that Skrtel hasn’t traveled the experienced defender looks a shoe-in to start tomorrow night.

Mamadou Sakho – Lovren recovered, for the most part, on Saturday after his return to form against West Ham so giving him a break may be a smart move against the French side and Sakho deserves a chance again after conceding three more goals at the weekend.

Alberto Moreno – We opted for Moreno against Man Utd, but Rodgers chose Gomez. Not that we’re saying ‘we told you so’ but the pressure got to Gomez in the end, as he gave away a needless penalty. Give Moreno a start to show he’s the same player he was early on last season in his proper position, whilst swapping Gomez to the right.
