Five Replacements for Rodgers at LFC

Frank de Boer

Having been listed as one of the frontrunners by the bookmakers for the Liverpool job, Frank de Boer has come out publicly in the last few days and effectively stated that he would be interested in taking over at Anfield.

De Boer certainly has an impressive CV, being the first manager to win four successive league titles in Holland. All four were won with Ajax, and he is now into his sixth season with the legendary Dutch club.

Not bad for a man still in the early years of his managerial career at 45 years of age.

De Boer enjoyed a glittering playing career with Ajax and Barcelona, and brings a wealth of continental experience, but with a trophy winning mentality as a manager. That youth, and mentality, makes him a positive choice to replace Rodgers at Liverpool.

The only concern, as with any foreign coach, would be whether de Boer could adjust to the Premier League, yet Southampton’s Ronald Koeman has set a good example in moving from Holland to England and using his contacts to bring in the right players from abroad at good prices.

De Boer could do exactly the same, except even better with his more successful reputation as a manager and, no disrespect to Southampton, by using Liverpool’s name as a big club.

De Boer would certainly have to be considered seriously should Rodgers lose his job.
