Player ratings: Everton 1-1 LIVERPOOL

|
Can continues to look out of place, wherever he starts

Can had his moments but looked shaky at the back again

GK/Defence

Simon Mignolet – Made a couple of outstanding saves and genuinely saved a draw for his team mates, however his familiar shakiness in the air was again there as was the lack of quality in distribution. Rating – 7

Nathaniel Clyne – Continues to struggle as a wing back and was given a real tussle by his opposite for much of the game. Rating – 6

Martin Skrtel – Between himself and Sakho, Skrtel kept Lukaku – mostly – under control but that didn’t stop the big Everton star having a good game and getting himself a goal. Showed a cool head late on to calm Sakho down. Rating – 7

Mamadou Sakho – Was in much better form today and, as with Martin Skrtel, he had a hell of a battle with Romelu Lukaku. Looked to have got the striker under control before losing his cool after a slap on the back; should be thankful for his team mates presence. Rating – 7

Emre Can – Started a lot of the Reds moves from the back but still look out of place, at times. Still, he did his part in a tightly contested 225th derby. Rating – 6

Alberto Moreno – The Spanish defender has been a revelation in the past couple of months, winning his place back and today putting in his best performance to date. He hasn’t had too much derby experience but he showed one or two players who have how you’re supposed to approach a derby game. Superb. Rating – 8 Man of the Match
