Can continues to look out of place, wherever he starts

GK/Defence

Simon Mignolet – Once again, did little wrong but lacks that extra something you see from top ‘keepers that can be worth ’12-15 points a season’. Oh, and his distribution was once again slow and awful. Rating – 4

Nathaniel Clyne – Will take the blame for the FC Sion goal, and perhaps rightly so, but his substitution at half time was due to Rodgers’ initial error in his starting line up/formation, as anything that Clyne did. Rating – 5.5

Joe Gomez – The England youngster was solid at centre back but suffers as a part of the unit. Rating – 6

Kolo Toure – We picked Toure in our lineup prior to the game but he was fairly poor and is really beginning to look past his best by some distance. It is now questionable whether he should play unless absolutely necessary so making him captain for the night was even more questionable. Rating – 5.5

Emre Can – His forward runs in the 2nd half were something of note, but Can again looked out of place. The fact that centre back isn’t his favoured role doesn’t help but we’re still yet to see Can looked 100% at home – or effective – in a Liverpool side. Rating – 5.5

Jordan Ibe – Ran his socks off and looked dangerous down either flank but we have to see more of a real end-product from the youngster. Rating – 6

The team isn’t gelling as such but a lot of that is the fact we are rolling to many players in and out. It concerns me that we keep playing the same formation with mainly 1 up front. We are not scoring goals and looked a completely different team when Sturrage was playing. We need a new manager to get the confidence back a high quality euro experienced manager.
