Allen returned to midfield and was far from influential

Midfield

Jordan Rossiter – A very talented young midfielder but it doesn’t seem like Rodgers really knows what his best role is. He is still, thankfully, just finding his way in the side but still impressed quietly; his most mature Liverpool performance yet. Rating – 6.5

Joe Allen – But where Rossiter was mature and balanced in his play, for the most part, you’d be forgiven for wondering whether he or Allen was the more experienced midfielder. Allen, as usual, didn’t do anything wrong but, whether it’s the way the side plays or just a long-term lack of form, the midfielder just never seems to contribute a great deal. Rating – 6

The team isn’t gelling as such but a lot of that is the fact we are rolling to many players in and out. It concerns me that we keep playing the same formation with mainly 1 up front. We are not scoring goals and looked a completely different team when Sturrage was playing. We need a new manager to get the confidence back a high quality euro experienced manager.
