The sheer volume of transfer stories in recent days must tell you one thing: the transfer window is just a few days away. Today there is more news on the defensive front, with FC Copenhagen’s young Ghana defender Daniel Amartey reportedly being lined up by the club.
Claims from a number of sources indicate that Amartey will be on his way in January, with a host of top European clubs keen to snap the player up and his agent hasn’t helped matters by claiming his player will be looking for a step up in the January transfer window.
The defender’s agent, Hasan Cetinkaya, told footafrica365: “Many top established European clubs are interested in him.
“There are scouts who watch him in every game. Today, Daniel is ready to move quickly to join a club of a higher level.”
At just 21 the youngster already has a lot of experience, having played around 80 games in Denmark, 44 of those coming for the Copenhagen side, whilst having won 6 caps for Ghana since making his debut in 2015.
Amartey would no doubt be a work-in-progress, but would certainly provide some cover for the likes of Martin Skrtel, Dejan Lovren and Mamadou Sakho, whilst also being able to double as a defensive midfielder.
